After 15 years of Social Media Platforms I’ve concluded a few things

1) Social media platforms are overwhelmingly, if not exclusively, feminine apps/websites. There’s really no reason for dudes or baws to be posting on Facebook, Instagram etc. It has caused people to waste so much time and has dumbed down the world in general.

2) Social media platforms have done more to harm society than help it. It is what has caused so much of the polarization. If it was just connecting with family and friends without posting views and commentary it may be worth joining. Unfortunately people, mainly females, worry about how many likes or loves or retweets they get. They judge their worth based on the response from others. It becomes a drug and easily leads to depression. Lots of people have used social media to aid in their adulterous behavior.

3) People say things through social media, this applies to message boards too, that they would never say to another person’s face. People have lost jobs over their posts.

To any of you college students looking for a topic to write about in your English class, you’re welcome.
