Too much house, too much yard, too much traffic have Linda and Buddy Ohmstede thinking 'move'

quote:

Too much house, too much yard, too much traffic had Linda Ohmstede needing a change, but her husband, Buddy, didn't want to leave their 7,000-square-foot classic Hays Town home.

quote:

"We had lived here for almost 40 years. We had four and a half acres, but we were reduced to living in the kitchen and bedroom," Linda Ohmstede said. "I told Buddy, 'if we're going to do it, let's do it when we can.'"

A story about some old rich people moving seems completely stupid any time, but to devote this much ink right now when thousands are left homeless is just insane.

Also: Did that old lady call The Advocate and say "Hey, Buddy and I are buying a smaller house, you wanna do a story on that?" How the hell else would it come to be a story? They might be old but they sure act new-money.

Meh. It's a story that's probably been in the works for a while. No reason to get triggered.

It's a newspaper...this won't be in the top-10 of most pointless Advocate articles printed today.

God forbid that ANYONE dare to do ANYTHING post flood. Personally I think they should cancel LSU Football, institute another permanent curfew and close all bars and restaurants until such time as all homes are repaired. This fun having cant be tolerated while others are sad.

They have a "homes" feature in the Life section of the paper at least once a week. It's typically a story that was written a few months back and compiled for print.

Newspapers print absolute dreck all the time. There simply isn't enough real news to drive the pageviews they need to keep running.

This is probably an old story that was in the pipeline for a Sunday feature. Flooding knocked it out of that spot and now they dumped it on a Thursday to take up column inches. Or maybe its a grand frick you to flood victims, whichever works.

I believe LSUNurse's parents downsized as well. This makes them equals. Her parents actually flooded out during the recent floods so that makes them even more worthy of a feature piece done on them.

When can we expect to see that?

In what way am I mad about how they spent their money? All I said was that it was a weird news piece. Literally the only way that reporter would find out about it is if the couple called them and said they were buying a new house. Would you call The Advocate if you were moving? I wouldn't, because it's fricking weird.
They did a piece a few years back about TJ Moran remodeling Master P's old house in CCL. That was interesting, this is not. There aren't even any pictures of the rooms described.
