but I really tip my cap to the ones from Tulane and Loyola who steer clear of the code courses and cant pass the LA bar, smart.

It's the ones from Loyola that really crack me up. I can somewhat understand some of the Tulane 1Ls coming in with high hopes of getting a job in DC, NY, Chi, etc. the ones at Loyola have to accept that they are really only marketable in New Orleans.

Granted, it is straight retarded to take out massive student loan debt. But let's just see the other side for a second. How else are you going to have the opportunity to get hundreds of thousands of dollars loaned to you, no credit history, no collateral, to do whatever you please with? I mean don't hate the player hate the game. Think time value of money people.

They make fine bartenders though! I bet half the bars in NO are staffed by unemployed lawyers.

My dad taught me how to get my hands dirty when I was a kid, so no one.

No doubt. I mean I am one of the sad sacks who will be paying student debt until I'm dead. I'm trying to figure out who wins in all this. The banks? The Chinese? One thing is for sure, getting into Highed Ed administration in circa 2005 would have been an incredibly good career move.

unless you're an engineer or accountant you're pretty much guaranteed to have to go to school for multiple degrees if you want to move up in the white collar world. unless your parents are OT ballers that means student loans.

the amount of people I know going after an MBA makes law school seem like a smart route these days.

Nice. I'm on the 50 year payment plan myself.

Whenever I'm discouraged by my lack of current options, I remind myself that I'll make it through undergrad and law school with only 20k in student loans. Overall my situation is better than most.

2016 was a terrible year in many ways but it was blessing in terms of income. it allowed me to put a major dent in them

after i paid my taxes i have a solid remainder left and am going to pay off a $6k loan with my next draw

i'm playing poker on the side and am trying to get my roll up to $20k and i want to use poker + excess from 2017 to pay them all off by December 2018

Always a solid bet to attempt to gamble your way out of debt.

yeah that's the plan.

starting in may last year i went 100% out on my own and i'm actually starting to really rack in clients. my client list is big enough to start paying off

i just have to decide how to market certain areas and create efficiencies to keep this rolling
