As a Louisiana lawyer who practices in Texas and Louisiana, your number one concerns should be not going into substantial debt, and going to school where you intend to practice your first 3 years. If each school costs about the same, and you truly do not know if you will live in Texas or Louisiana, then I would favor LSU because it carries enough name to get you a job in either Texas or Louisiana. If you apply for Louisiana jobs with a law degree from A&M, the initial responses you will get from some firms will be 1) I didn't know A&M had a law school, and 2) why did you go to A&M if you wanted to practice in LA?

First, NONE. It’s a trap!
Two: LSU over Loyola. Bar passage rate is better for half the tuition. And only ATM if you’re gonna practice in Texas. Even then LSU is fine. Lotta LSU Law classmates went to Texas.

Go to TAMU if you ever plan on practicing anywhere outside of Louisiana.

I sort of agree even though I think we're projecting into the future here.
A&M is a solid brand with a school moving up quickly, so I think long term it'll prove the best OOS option

And it is not the Southern law of NOLA...Loyola actually beat LSU on bar passage this past July.
Tulane is better for a national job search.
Eeek ... This advice doesn't take into account cost enough.
Most of law doesn't pay like it used to... so I'd consider the costs of the degree a hell of lot closer than you would think. This rules out Loyola completely and just about rules out Tulane.
Where do you want to live:
Louisiana = Depending on your personality, I'd probably do the Southern night program. frick student loans. Keeping more income will make up for not making as much right away. If not, LSU is respected law school at a reasonable price. If you chose to move, people will recognize LSU.
Texas: LSU or A&M ... I know several people working in Texas with an LSU degree without many issues.
New York = Tulane
Never: Loyola... WAY too expensive.. Just do the Southern night thing if your LSATs are a little lower.

TX am higher out of state costs and Common Law which is applicable everywhere except LA.
If you live in LA, and plan to stay in LA, go to LSU.
The goal of any law school is to get you ready for the Bar. Go the cheapest and best route possible. LSU is higher ranked than Loyola and has a higher Bar passage rate, and is much cheaper.

This is wrong on so many levels. If you plan to live in Nola after school, as the OP indicated he might, class rank at your Louisiana-based school (other than Southern) is much more important. Top 10-20% at Lsu, Loyola, or Tulane is much more valuable than Top 50% at Tulane or LSU.
So, going to the "best school" that will accept him is wrong for the OP. It's also wrong for nearly all law school applicants.
To the OP: If your after scholarship tuition is similar at lsu and Loyola, I'd recommend Loyola. But that's only if you plan to live in NOLA. Equal education with a better chance at a higher class rank (due to Loyola's admission standards).
