Ben,

Go to the highest ranked law school that will accept you. That will give you more opportunities when you're looking for a job and will translate into a higher starting salary when you get out.

There are plenty of stories of the C-students from average law school ending up rich--some are personal injury lawyers, there are others, too. Those lawyers are the exception, not the rule. If you want to increase the odds that you will be have a lucrative career, start as high up in the rankings as you can.

Translation: go to LSU.

In all seriousness, I addressed this in my original post. I knew a lot of people would say this and asked you to refrain, yet you still felt the need to do so anyway. Thanks for your contribution. Get out of here

Yes and no. Yes if you want to work for some of the better Jones Act firms downtown, No if for anything else.

Tulane is actually the school that truly opens doors in NOLA

Serious question, why did you even reply to this thread? Clearly you are unhappy and that's fine, but you don't have to insult other simply because you live in your mom's basement playing your 54th game of fortnite of the day.

I have a general question for everyone: why in fricks name did my original topic/thread get 4 downvotes? Like what on earth are y'all so unhappy about? I ask for some general, solid advice as a young person about to set out into the real world and I get blasted for trying to make an informed decision. It's truly remarkable. Some of y'all need to take a fricking Xanax and calm the hell down if your life is really that miserable. Good god.

With that level of anger and fury, you'll make one hell of a lawyer no matter where you go.

You're getting rustled on a trolling board?

You sure you want to be an attorney?

Not sure if it's still like this, but it used to be:

Loyola - entrance requirements MAY be a bit harder, but once you're in, you're good unless you really are a foul up.

LSU - easier to get in but they flunk out a certain amount each year (or so the rumor was)

Boosie, how many weeks would I have to cram to pass the Louisiana bar without going to law school? You know I'm smart

Oh, so stating obvious facts is now being "rustled?" Got it. Makes sense. You people are a beating

Go to A&M if you wanna live in DFW, St. Mary’s if you wanna live in South Texas, South Texas or U Houston if you wanna live there and then LSU if you wanna live in Louisiana.
Go to LSU if you are completely unsure.

You're asking people on an internet message sports board to help you make one of the biggest decisions in your life to date. What kind of response did you think you would get on the OT?

It's going to be so unfulfilling if so

unless your idea of argument is mostly passive aggressive emails written entirely so they can be attached to a motion at some point

You're ignoring all the legit advice where you can be asking more questions to and focusing on the few negative posts.

Maybe you're too stupid for school

Get out of this thread. It's the OT's now

Reading the thread it seems to me you got a number of genuine responses to help you with your decision, why get bent out of shape with the other ones? And on the OT...asking people NOT to comment on something is chum in the water.

Good luck with your decision. I can't help you with it..not a lawyer. But I will tell you that in any profession there is always room for excellent people. Focus on that.

This guy has a good perspective, and he seems nice

He's not a lawyer

read into that what you will
