Advice on being the middle man at work

I'm the go between at work between my boss, their boss, and our oversight people. No one is even close to being on the same page and they come to me for answers. I obviously don't want to make any parties look bad and I want to be helpful as I can but when I'm constantly asked about progress and I known parties are unwilling to make progress on their end at all, what do I do?

Tell the fryer guy to just yell over to the cashier if he needs to tell her something.

You tell them the truth. Sounds like you're in a typical corporate environment, so you owe no one any loyalty.

Wait until something big is coming up. Take 2 or 3 days off. Return. Ask for raise.

I am the middle man at work.
Know your job, bite your tongue, and be glad that you're not the boss.

I can't stand people not wanting to be on the same page and not really giving a shite... Be blunt and honest. You don't owe anybody anything. Sometimes being an a-hole is just what you need to do. If you cut the bullshite out, you'll come across as a bit of a social oddity sometimes, but people will respect your opinion.

I constantly have to balance not throwing anyone under the bus and not taking the blame either. It's a tough spot to be in but don't let yourself get screwed.

Well, it's my first real big job and I have unique responsibilities to the job that no one else in my unit shares. I'm not going to get into it on here. It I'm in s very awkward position. I want to do my best and sometimes I don't know what the right answer is.
So I ask an anonymous resource.

Serious question: are you a midget?

Have you tried throwing a BBQ for everyone?
Get them wasted. Then, armwrestle.

Continue to cover for their non-performing, sorry asses. When you get fired, find a job working with competent people.
Stop covering for them. It will not end well for you if you don't.
Van by the river and whatnot.

I was sort of a mole at one job I had. All I can say is remember who the boss is
