Do you usually just assume things when you walk into a courthouse? Surely you’re a better notary than that.

That’s a lie. I didn’t comment on anything about auto policies.

But you do you Jake and be the sleazy lawyer that you are

Uninsured motorist could come into play if the at fault driver doesn't have insurance or is under insured.

Yes you’re correct.

What if she doesn’t have any auto insurance at all? Wouldn’t having a health insurance policy be helpful?

Not enough money in the world for me to ride one or insurance coverage available to operate one. Godspeed.

Fun fact. I found out this doesn’t pay as a result of an accident. This is why I carry $100,000 in med pay.

Some health plans will indeed cover some and certain medical bills as a result of an accident after all other avenues have been exhausted. Your health policy has final say.

It didn’t happen to me but PI friends have told me there have been times it has been disputed. To always carry the most medpay you can. Don’t know if it’s BS or not but what I hear, I listen to. Especially since it’s not that expensive.

It's because they don't want to take a discount reimbursement from health insurance when they can almost always get 100% from an auto insurance policy. Like in this scenario there would have to be at least 3 policies that wouldn't pay to lose.

Then why is he worried about a $15k hospital Bill?

Because his health insurance will not pay it. They will throw it to the party bus or Penske. And both of them will play hot potato with it. Meanwhile the hospital will send him the full bill expecting to be paid by someone. It will likely take 6-12 months to get sorted out but there will be lots of bullshite and stress between now and then.

I was involved in a minor fender bender 3yrs ago and shits just about finally wrapped up. Only remaining holdout is someone who wasn’t involved in the accident claiming they were.

A friend of mine was hooking up a trailer on the side of the road, a guy texting and driving veered into the trailer, which resulted in my friend getting airlifted to the hospital with a fractured sternum, a few days in ICU, bunch of scans. Silver lining they discovered he had early stage renal cell carcinoma.

His health insurance (from major O&G company) refused to pay for any bills related to the accident, but did cover his cancer surgery and follow ups.

They kicked it to his auto insurer first, who then kicked it to the texting and driving guy, who turns out was uninsured. Eventually his uninsured motorist and medical benefits on his auto policy paid up.

Pretty eye opening.

They will if no one else will.

That’s why its good that his daughter has health insurance. Better to have it than not have it.

You should not be liable - either the party bus company or the truck that hit them should be

Or both - I’m not a lawyer though so my advice is crud - just speaking from personal experience

Also speaking from personal experience - Morris Bart will help, so will Bruno & Bruno - they’re out of NOLA

Lucky is not too bad in BR - I don’t know anyone in Lafayette

But call a lawyer!! Don’t pay anything - the hospital shouldve been aware that this was from an accident
