My 3 year old 85 lb St. Bernard / German shepherd was the "runt" of her litter. Box of pups was left at a local vet. Best dog I've ever had.

"Adopting" and "rescuing" are the two most pretentious terms in the history of dog ownership. Just say you went to the fricking pound.

They are great dogs. I wanted a lab, but her what she wanted. I don’t regret it all. Dude is smart as hell and freaks the frick out every day when I come home. Love that shite.

I hate breeders, and only go to the shelter. I fricking hate the term rescue. Unless you pulled it out of a burning building, rescue sounds pretentious. But you sign papers to take ownership of the dog. What else would you call that besides adoption?

You don't have to go to the pound & get a mutt

Pretty much every breed has a local rescue

I swear, people on here can get pissy over the littlest things.

Call it "resucing", call it "adopting", hell call it "liberating" for all I care. If you're keeping a dog from being euthanized, you're good in my book.

I bred my lab. Had all the pups lined up with a home before she was even knocked up. Pound dogs aren't for everyone.

Raising them alone was kind of tough though,as the dad was out of the picture.

I just found out that the Jefferson Parish SPCA has a R&R program where you can take a dog home for the day, night, or weekend.

We're thinking if getting a dog, and the Louisiana Boxer Rescue has been kind of a letdown.

Wow, what a sad, sad little man you must be.

I’ve grown up with pure bred labs but who fricking cares what someone calls a dog they get at the pound? It’s a dogs life that has been saved and given a good home. What kind of person finds fault in that? fricking douchebag

Are you looking for a younger dog?
I know LABR typically has older dogs.

Pet finder is a pretty good resource since most local shelters & rescues have their available dogs listed

I couldn't care less what people call pound pups.

It's just pretty comical when rescue/shelter dog owners try to belittle you for having a pure bred dog from a good line. If you're ok with a variety pack pup, then props to you. But when they ride that high horse and shame you because you went with a pure breed....

Still mad about Lynch being ejected

Still don’t understand why someone would talk down on people taking in dogs. Dogs are better than people
