"Adopting" and "rescuing" are the two most pretentious terms in the history of dog ownership. Just say you went to the fricking pound.

It just annoys me when people come up with these terms to pat themselves on the back. "My dog is a RESCUE."
I mean, when you adopt a child do you say "I went to the adoption center?"
Adopt is the correct verb to use if you want to be nitpicky.
Also, many shelters kill the animals after a while, therefore you are indeed rescuing them. Again, the correct verb usage.
Also, go frick yourself.

is a rescued golden, border collie mix. Wondered out loud every single day since we've had her how anyone could have abandoned her. Had many dogs in my life but this one is something else
Had a German shepherd/border collie mix that I got from someone who couldn't handle her as a pup. Brilliant dog, smarter than the witch who couldn't handle her

Adopting/rescuing is great. My gf didn’t want anything but a goldendoodle. I didn’t have much of a choice lol.

I recently assumed ownership (she wasn't adopted or rescued) of a Goldendoodle. She's such a smart dog.
I'm still trying to decide what I'm going to say to the first SJW who gives me grief for owning a "designer" dog.
