In the 60's during integration, most of the young blacks dressed well and tried to assimilate into the larger culture. Look at the photos. It was completely different. They worked hard to do well in school. There were middle class jobs for the parents.

But in the 70's, you could see how the culture the black community was starting to change. The Black Panthers and other groups took a more militant approach to society. And since then, it's been all downhill.

Now there's such a cultural gulf between the majority of the black community and the white community it's not repairable. Not in my lifetime. There's no amount of money or job training to fix it. You can't fix the schools. You can't save the moms with poor educations and children with multiple fathers. It's hard for us to live together. And no one is going to put up with this gang driven random violence.

These are lost people. It makes me sad to say it, but that's reality.

If a white kid was arrested for discharging a stolen weapon with an automatic switch in a classroom, it would be national news with a rightful lengthy prison sentence. For these young doctors, it's a slap on the wrist and notoriety within his community.
