No we don’t. I have only worked at one hospital in the country with armed guards. The rest are private security...and not good private security.

Yeah, they have an emergency room there I think, but from my understanding UAB Highlands is primarily an orthopedic and outpatient type hospital.

A democratic state rep just came on one of the local news stations, and demands gun control before anything else. She also expressed her condolences for the person who was brutally murdered in this event, problem is, the only person confirmed dead is the shooter.

Yup. I had a case there on Monday. Flew in from Baton Rouge to Birmingham did the case then flew back afterwards. Crazy how that happens. I’ve never been to Birmingham let alone to work at UAB

UAB Highlands, in one of it's former iterations, was the first HealthSouth hospital and the original home of Andrews Sports Medicine. Richard Scrushy had a 12 foot bronze statue of himself erected in front of it in the 90's. After the scandal, they pulled it down like they were toppling Saddam. UAB purchased the facility outright in 2006.

Interesting. What makes you say that?
My company employs over 10s of thousands of nurses all over the country and I interact with them and their bosses regularly. Never heard of this.

Wife just got into work and got the story.
Supposedly, shot 2 UAB employees, killing one, then shot himself.
