How is it anecdotal when I have witnessed the accutane side effects?

They may not have the proof yet, but it is an unreasonable chance to take, believe me. There is lots of "smoke" around accutane. It's just not worth it if the study comes up in 5 years and says, oops, sorry, you kid is permanently changed.

You're assuming the side effects were related to accutane, maybe the kids just wanted to kill themselves because of you, the other common denominator

anecdotal - based on or consisting of reports or observations of usually unscientific observers.
Essentially, an observation by a lay person rather than a controlled study or well researched observation of data.
I'm not trying to dismiss what your friends went through just stating that it is simply your observation of events rather than something that indicates causality.

quote:shite works when nothing else will. A few of my kids took this and it really is good stuff.
Switch to accutane.
They may now be sterile or my grandkids will have webbed feet, but hey - acne cleared up!

Whatever you do, DON'T use Accutane!! It might work fine, but if it screws the kid up, it's serious!

I'm not assuming anything -- he is one of my best friends and I grew up with him. I saw first hand how accutane fricked him up. I'm sure accutane works for many, but there are some serious potential side effects.

I know it's a pyramid scheme now, but I tested Proactive in the late 90's and it cleared me right up.

Tell the kid to man up and rub those Oxy pads on his/her face. Burns a little but way cheaper. My mom had some proactiv also and it worked well.

What specifically did it do to them?

It's really not good for athletes. It's dries up all the natural fluid around your ligaments leaving them exponentially more suspectible to severe injury.

I would have a few words with the dermatologist!!!

Why didn’t your pharmacist tell you that? Mine sent me to Costco instead of filling my Rx. He would have to charge me $650 for the generic of my Rx and Costco sells same generic for $50.
Posted on 6/30/18 at 7:21 pm to RougeDawg
Both of my girls did accutane or the generic. Doc gave coupons. A month cost about $50 if I remember right.

I took accutane back in ‘94 and the shite was great. BUT the side effects really sucked. I had to get blood work done every month on it, had lips that were so damn chapped that they pretty much bled half the day, Id get sunburnt pretty easily, and it also stunted my growth which sucked. But hey all in all I guess it was worth it.

lol we got the same prescription. The pharmacy in Texas called and told me the price and I said thanks but not thanks that I knew my insurance wouldn't even partly cover it.
"Oh but wait -- we have a coupon that can make it as little as $35".
OK in that case give it to me -- once a day is hard enough much less twice.
It's freaking insane.
