Nothing sadder than seeing an elderly person have to walk out without meds because they can't afford to pay....and if you ask any pharmacist, they will tell you that they see it every day.

But what the pharmacists are not telling you is that they know cheaper comparable or generic of the same .

The first thing I ask when prescribed something is how much it costs. Then, I look for coupons and such. GoodRx is the bomb.

This should be every patient’s first thought. Doctors are quite busy and don’t always take price into consideration once they’ve made the diagnosis. Good ones do, but patients have to keep them in check.

How is it anecdotal when I have witnessed the accutane side effects?

That is literally the definition of anecdotal.

Internet search appears that I could have gotten Minocyclin (have to take twice a day instead of once) for frigin $20!

Call the doc and ask for the specific one you want- they'd likely switch to the form of minocycline you'll actually pay for. Just make sure you check whether the tablets or capsules are cheaper between your insurance plan or cash price (capsules tend to be cheaper for Minocin)
