Absolutely the biggest White Guilt crap I have ever read - Alton related

This has to be the worst yet and it not only comes from NOLA.com but from a tenured professor at the LSU Manship School of Journalism.
I am pretty damn sure you can dress in a tuxedo, stand on the 18th Green at the Country Club of LA at noon and the police will still shoot you when you try to pull a gun on them. Can these people not see that or are they being purposefully misleading?
He knows it isn't really a valid argument, but screw that, he is going to use it anyway.
Light this idiot up OT.

Was there any doubt the U.S. Justice Department would absolve the Baton Rouge police officers who killed 37-year-old Alton Sterling last July? I never expected federal prosecutors would vindicate Sterling's death by charging one or both of the two officers with violating his civil rights. And I cannot imagine anyone thought otherwise.
The Sterling incident speaks volumes about police-community relations, but also the powerlessness of people of color (especially if poor) when confronted by police or sucked into the justice system.
Indulge me a time-travel thought exercise. Take me back to July 5, 2016, and put me in Sterling's place for his encounter with police. An officer would not jam his gun to my head and bark, as one of the Sterling family's lawyers reported, "Bitch, I'm gonna kill you." No one would die. That's not because of my superior survival skills. It's, rather, because I am white.

On July 5, 2016, the day Alton Sterling died in Baton Rouge, a sheriff's deputy in Wake County, N.C., arrested a 62-year-old man after drivers reported he was standing on a road, brandishing a shotgun. After Deputy D.R. Farmer wrestled the gun from the man, the suspect whipped out a .22 pistol and fired. He missed Farmer, who then snatched the handgun and arrested the man without further incident.
I'll give you three guesses about the race of the North Carolina man, William Bruce Ray.
I know this is not prima facie evidence of racist policing. But, given the Sterling shooting and so many others like it, how many more stories of gun-wielding white men apprehended peacefully must we read to acknowledge that "justice" is anything but colorblind?
He knows it isn't really a valid argument, but screw that, he is going to use it anyway.

I just don't understand the term "white guilt". It is the stupidest fricking thing I ever heard of.
The terms sounds as if every white person should feel guilty for being white. If you are poor as dirt white trash with no education, you should feel some type of guilt even though black people today has the same opportunities as anyone else.
I was born white, why would I feel guilty? My ancestors were not even in the country during the civil war. On my mom's side, her grandparents on her dad's side came here from Germany. My dad's grandparents were dirt poor people from Georgia who were pretty much sharecroppers on tobacco farm.
No one in my family had nothing to do with slavery. Some were poor as frick. frick it.. Anyone who buys that shite is an idiot. Especially any white people..

It would be pretty easy to go through that piece and pick it apart line by line... but it's not like you're going to change the mind of someone that's in that deep.

This misleading, dumb, SJW, maggot needs to have his degrees revoked. He obviously cannot think logically, or even do enough research to get the story right. A Professor at Manship? No wonder the press is a mess if retards like this guy are tenured and teaching them their craft....
Anybody who would have followed police instructions, regardless of color, would have lived through the altercation....that, Sir, is the truth. You need a new profession. You are not very good at this one...

This guy must be Gravy's new white friend.

glad he is warping the minds of journalism students who can go out and stand in the rain at night to report that nothing is going on. fricking loser is influencing young minds with his "whitey is evil" agenda. Might as well let them study under Sheila Jackson Lee or Rev. Al. At least those two know how to run a shake down.

Will the police be responding to a call of an old white guy that's threatening someone with a gun late at night in front of a convenience store? If so, cops will treat you as just as much of a threat as they did with Alton if you resist them and try to reach for the gun in your pocket

yeah, how bout old Bob test his theory out? Disobey two cops (white or black), resist arrest, and act like your reaching for a gun. Get back to us with how that works our for you Bob. Bet your just as dead as Alton.

Given the circumstances... That the two officers knew they were responding to a situation where a suspect had a gun, I'd say color is irrelevant. They already knew he was armed. They wanted to see his hands and they wanted to disarm him. He prevented them from doing this. It's pretty cut and dried.

Aren't more whites killed by cops annually than blacks?
Wasn't that a white kid killed in Marksville?
Why the misinformation?

Why? You are not going to change his position.
If anything, "lighting him up" will only make him grow stronger in his position.
