I take it your mower didn't splice it properly? Have it trim back the ends a bit and try to splice it again.
Also have the mower come inside and check the signal at the modem before heading back to the shed. Last thing you want is a second callout because some other problem was overlooked.

they might charge you

Everything going to your house is supposed to be their responsibility. There should be no charge for existing utilities outside your house. Once it reaches your house, it is your responsibility.

NO, and I mean ZERO cable companies would run it above ground and lay it to be mowed over.
They never returned to my uncle's house, he had to bury it himself.

It’s copper. There is no way in hell’ a homeowner could do a fiber splice.

Been there done that. Go get a cable splice kit at Home Depot and put it together and then bury it.

When I had cable they buried it about 2 inches deep. My big dog found it, pulled about 30 feet of it up like a giant worm, and chewed it into about six pieces.

BS. You are wrong.

I had ATT run one on the ground and leave it. Took me 3 months and cutting the cable twice to get them to take action.

I’ve had Cox lay one on the ground and then forget to send someone out to bury it. Because the initial installer doesn’t bury it, there’s other crews that come behind them.

I also had Cox run one on the back of my fence so they wouldn’t have to dig. Again, I cut it and called them. Then I told them they cannot put it on my fence. They sent a crew to bury it.

Call the company and tell them. They don't give a fawk. Demand they bury the wire properly.

If he does all of the shite you suggest, the cable company is going to want him to start giving them money every month.

For real, the cable provider should be able to fix your services at no charge to you. Who do you have?

Why did your service provider not bury it properly during installation?

Laziness would be my guess. I had trouble years ago with my phone line. It got cut twice while the neighbor was building his house. Cable guys ran my line diagonally across his property instead along property lines like they are suppose to. Phone company had to re-bury my line, about 400 feet worth.

If you can get underneath your home, I'd just run it myself. Mine was splitting due to age and was having intermittent issues so I bought 100 ft of cable and connected it at the pole, dug a short trench to my house, buried the wire until I was underneath my house and then went all the way to my modem up through the floor. I was short by 5 ft so I bought an extra 15 ft cable and a barrel connector.

If the tape isn’t working then you’ve pretty much exhausted all options. You’re going to have to buy a new house and move.
