The original ninja turtles movie came out 30 years ago.

I was 8 when this movie came out, same age my son is now.

He’s watching it on netflix as we speak.

Anybody else have the version that has the little league Pizza hut short? I remember that little jingle to this day.

ETA: nostalgia

First time I felt old was when I realized I was older than Bruce Willis was when he made Die Hard. He was 33.

2060 and 1980 are the same distance away from this point in time.

I remember being pissed that I didn't wake up overnight to a Jetsons-like reality. 12 year old HempHead was not terribly perceptive.

I play right field, it's important, you know? You gotta know how to catch. You gotta know how to throw. That's why I play in right field, way out where the dandelions grow.

Have not watched that tape in over 20 years.

I graduated HS in 1980

We had typewriters, not computers.

I was 8 as well. I still remember going to the video store to rent the VHS right after it was released. An entire wall full of the box covers but no tapes left.

I still sing the right field song to this day. I coach a baseball team and it always pops in my head when right field comes up.

Don't feel bad. The movies that were very popular when I was a kid at the neighborhood theaters were the "Beach" movies with Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon, Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis comedies, John Wayne westerns, Viking movies with Kirk Douglas and Tony Curtis, shorts with Laurel & Hardy, the Three Stooges, The Bowery Boys.

Got into the local neighborhood theater on Friday nights for a double feature and cartoons between them for a grand total of $.25 admission. If you went to the show with $1 you could get in and head to the concession stand to get a box of popcorn, a soda and a box of candy and still have a few nickels left over.

Well, I guess I at least got the "bring back the magic" years in 96 & 97. We were season ticket holders during the Hallman years too.

Damn .25 cents. I remember paying .50 cents for the matinee.

You are older than dirt!
