You really start to feel old when you follow a great football player through college followed by a lengthy NFL career, and then do the same for his son.

I still remember going to the video store to rent the VHS right after it was released. An entire wall full of the box covers but no tapes left.

The best were the guys avoiding eye contact coming out of the porno section at Video USA.

One minute you’re you’re wearing bandanas, yielding weapons, doing martial arts and eating pizza... the next you’re reading every post in a low testosterone discussion. Life happens fast.

Damn .25 cents. I remember paying .50 cents for the matinee.

I remember every once in a while they'd hold canned food drives and if you brought 2 cans of food, you got into the show.

Now those were the local neighborhood shows and the one I mentioned was right there in Arabi right past the Parish Line coming in from N.O.

It was on the corner of Angela and St. Claude on the Claiborne side. It later turned into a furniture store, not sure what it is now but the building is still there.

Now, if you went downtown to one of several movie house along Canal like the Saenger, Lowes State, the Joy and off Canal there was the RKO Orpheum. Those cost $1 per ticket but were so much more plush than the neighborhood movie houses.

See... that’s weird because 1980 was also 20 years ago.

The original ninja turtles movie came out 30 years ago.

I was 8 when this movie came out, same age my son is now.

He’s watching it on netflix as we speak.

My oldest daughter is your age.

I have a grandson that will start college this fall just as his uncle, my son. Is entering his final semester of his senior year.

Yeah, "we're" getting old alright.

My first movie years were Starwars, Jaws and I watched Rocky in a drive in movie theater. I got Porkies and Risky Business in my teens.
