My sixteen year old son thinks it's funny that I still call Russia the Soviet Union.

Did it have the saloon doors or the beads hanging? I used to non chalantly or not so non chalantly hang out by that entrance to get a peek at the box covers when people went in and out

I know of no movie houses that do that today in the New Orleans area. You may find that happening in small towns around the country, just like you can still find drive-in theaters still operating in some rural areas.

Speaking of Drive-Ins, I can remember when the N.O. and Metairie area had close to a dozen of them back in the 60's and as a kid my dad would often take us down to the old St. Bernard Drive-In on St. Bernard Hwy. Summertime was brutal with the mosquitoes from the cow pasture right behind the drive-in lot. Lots of Pics were placed on the metal dashboard to try to ward them off.
