A tribute to Peterbilt trucks
Posted by Apache on 3/4/22 at 11:46 am541
There's just something about the Peterbilt 379. So awesome! They're a work of art and I always like seeing these out on the highways. Any OT truckers own or drive one of these?

All people start with a peter

I'm more of a 359 guy myself, but my dad drove Mack's and Diamond Reo's, so I'm partial to those. Particularly the 60's and 70's.

Its a timeless design.
Our driver hates them now that he has a new Volvo. He said his new truck is twice as big on the inside because the cab is the full width of the truck.

Got to drive a 579 as a loaner once, but not the long noses. The 379/389s look fantastic, but give me the 579 for the job I do. Diesel is expensive and I'd rather have more money in my pocket than compliments about the model of truck i drive.

I never got to drive a big rig (unlike Biden), but I've always thought that they're cool as hell. I especially like the Mack trucks from the 60s (B61, B62, etc.) with plenty of chrome and curves.

Lately I've been keeping an eye out for old cabovers going down the road. You don't see them very often so I have to tip my cap to the guys keeping them on the road and working.

Am old trucker came home one day and told his wife, "baby, I'm thinking of getting a new Peterbilt."
To which the wife replied "I think you should. And see if you can get a bigger one this time."
