What you described in the first paragraph would suggest that transgenderism is rooted in gestational biology, and is completely out of the control of the person who is transgender
In those rare cases, sure, but that doesn't explain why a boy who "identifies as a girl" is in to such stereotypically female things.
My point earlier in this thread was that a boy who identifies as a girl almost invariably identifies with the 1960 version of a woman, which leads me to believe that he/she is much more into female things than he/she actually feels like a female.

quote:What evidence do you have to support your position? A few anecdotes? How many transgender people do you know? Because none of the ones that I know well are overly invested in stereotypically feminine things. It's much less of an exaggerated expression for them than what you're suggesting.

One just came out a few years ago and she has always been into punk rock, metal, and skateboarding.
Another is really into video games and is getting a PhD in the sciences.
None of that is exclusively male, but they're definitely not stereotypically girly pursuits or interests.
I know one trans woman who is a fashion designer so I guess that's a typically female pursuit, although there are plenty of men (usually gay) working in fashion. She dresses femininely, but she makes a lot of her clothes and it's arguably androgynous. She also models male clothing sometimes.
There are certainly a lot of trans women who express their gender in very stereotypical ways, but that could have more to do with wanting to "pass" as female and feel feminine than anything else.

This article seems like a work of fiction designed to advance the Trans agenda. I wouldn't put it past the progressives or the print media to do such a thing to advance their ideology. What harm could a 9 year old "girl" do, right?

I don't remember how I thought back at that age but I do know that there was a kid in the neighborhood that we all called a fig. He might have been 11. Yep he turned out to be gay.

Same here.
I think he/she has a mental illness and her counselor or parents "coaxed" her into being transgendered.

Dude in my class always acted like a girl, even since the 4th grade. He pretended to be the pink Power Ranger. He's gay now.

Transgendering a preadolescent child is child abuse. >80% will transition to well adapted gender normal adolescents/adults, if they are not transgendered by adults from an early age.

More like 99%
This crap isn't a blip on the radar unless it's fed by people with an agenda

Her parents should be in jail for child abuse.

yep...you're trash alright.
This transgender shite is out of control, yes, but it is not happening because two dudes can get tax breaks after signing a piece of paper at the court house.

ust look how Penn St treated the Sandusky scandal. If we continue down the road we are going down, in 20 years anything will fair game.
You're a fricking moron. Gay people aren't pedophiles. They aren't remotely tied together. Get your head out of your arse.

He/She can also refer to gender, versus sex. There is a difference. Crack a dictionary if you're not sure.
So it's she, referring to her female gender.
But it's cool if you're still in denial bruh
I feel like Bill Gates but it doesn't make me a billionaire. "Feeling" like you are something, especially when you have all the worldly maturity and experience of a fricking 9yr old, doesn't mean you actually are.
With people like you feeding their denial of reality, it's no wonder the suicide rate among trans is so high.

They don't. They know it gets ten attention, and that is literally all it takes.

You need a link? It happens every day in every psychiatric office all across America.
Parents and children are just passive sheep in this process. They always listen to their mental health professionals and go along.
Where has that taken us in the past?
1. In 1949 Egas Moniz was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine for his discovery of lobotomy.
2. Homosexuality was widely considered a mental illness as recently as 1972.
Are you telling me you are willing to accept the consensus of Psychiatrists NOW? What makes us so much smarter today than the last 50 years?
I have news for you. Science and discovery are fluid entities. I am not willing to bet the future mental health on "current theory".

Agreed. Let's allow anecdotal evidence, visceral emotions, and hashtags accompanied by catchy phrases to lead the wave of change

quote:The difference is that I'm not making sweeping statements based on my anecdotes. I used them to offer a different perspective and show the person to whom I was replying that his anecdotes are not necessarily representative of all transgender women.
Scolds anecdotes the proceeds to give a list of anecdotes
Did you really need that explained to you?
edit: Let me elaborate because I know someone isn't going to understand.
If person A has seen five dogs and they've all been brown, he might say that all dogs are brown.
Person B has seen five dogs, and two were yellow. He knows he can't generalize about the color of all dogs, but he can definitely say that person A is wrong--not all dogs are brown. Sometimes they are yellow.
Anecdotes cannot be used to prove a generalization, but they can be used to disprove a generalization. This is just basic inductive logic.
