You're a woman, I'm convinced. If not, you were raised by two of them.

I don’t know the reason, but fireworks were definitely down in my area as well. There weren’t more than a couple of cars at the stand any time that I drove past.

You can either eat, buy gas, or buy fireworks. Biden's America.

Same here. One of the native corps sells fireworks in town, they usually sell out in hours. Didn't sell out this year.

Tourists are spending helluva lot of money, locals seem to be closing it down.

So now we are at the point of unfunny, unclever, and really just nonsensical name calling.

Same thing in my neighborhood.
Been here since 2005 and this year was by far the quietest and shortest duration.

Just from asking around it was down in my neck of the woods also. While my wife got up and bitched about the noise because she had to go to work in the morning, I stood outside on my dark corner and watched the neighbors one block over just light up the skys from about 10:00 pm till 11:15. People will be posting all over social media about their missing dogs and cats. As far as running out of money you ain't seen nothing yet.

The stand near my house was continuously busy.

People in my neighborhood were practically self destructing.

No shortage here.
When I was a kid fireworks time was something to look forward to. As an adult it's more like wasting money on more Chinese made garbage.

The little assholes in my neighborhood must be living large. They were going to well past midnight.

Based on the type of people I've seen running these places, that isn't something I'd willingly tell people about your son.

Apparently we have a different economy in BR because that shite was still going strong around my neighborhood well after 10pm last night.

Have you considered that hookers and drugs might have become more easily accessible, and people are spending their money on other entertainment options?

I know someone that was a partner of a fireworks store in one of those warehouses. Surprisingly profitable and they didn't have to do anything. Just got the k-1 every year.

School teachers are very involved in owning these stands.

Yep. Instead of people having an extra $200 to spend on fireworks, that’s going to gas and food

My family has a little place on a very popular lake in north/central AL. We typically avoid going on the 4th of July weekend because of how crowded it is on the water. So, we didn't go this past weekend. However, from what I've heard numerous people who live up there say, it was the most quiet and tame 4th of July weekend they can remember on the water. The only thing they can attribute it to is gas prices. The cost to fill the truck/car up to get up there and back and then the cost to fill up a boat for the entire weekend is just too high and people don't have the disposable income to justify it.
