It sounded like that old video of the high school girls fighting and one threw a shovel at the other and caught her in the head perfectly.

a few years ago when the old lady and I moved to TX we’d go “exploring” just to get familiar with the area, we’d just pick a different direction each day and start driving, one day we were driving along this rural highway, paralleled by a RR track, and at every crossing it was lined with people, I finally stopped and asked what was going on, apparently the “Katy Flyer” was coming through on her last scheduled trip, didn’t see any sort of cops or RR people, we watched it come through, no one got hurt, csn
I'm curious as to where this was and how long ago, since the Katy Flyer's ast trip was in the 50's. I suspect if it was steam it was the Union Pacific's business train (which would include old Katy tracks).

upon review she did actually kind of push her kid down to protect him so it wasnt like she was totally unaware of the danger.

it was circa 2006, tracks were north/south, just west of Roanoke, I assumed it was going into the BNSF terminal

Even when you have taken lots of train photos, you have to be very aware of your surroundings. For example, a pipe could dislodge from a gondola car and swing over to the side (there have been railroad workers killed by loose loads that swing outside the confines of the car). On multiple track lines, you have to watch for trains coming up behind you.

Trains are unmerciful. They cannot swerve around you. Railroad employees and train fans sometimes get injured or killed by being complacent.

Absolutely horrible. Even if she made a critical error by standing so close, the results are quite saddening to witness.

Was that the first train ever in Mexico? Why are all of the people lining up to film a train.

My guess is that it was an American train whistle and not Messican. Not knowing English was her demise.

Have you never played Red Dead Redemption?

Seriously, though it was apparently some kind of historical train.

I saw a 40-something black dude standing in the middle of the Bluff Road overpass yesterday in the middle of the afternoon, kneeling and taking a selfie.
