and knows he needs to beat passage of HB71

really don't know if JBE would sign that bill though... or if the legislature would call itself back in for a veto override session for that alone

My theory for awhile has been he wants to get Davis down and then plans to stop. It's the only other one that's not really prominently displayed in its own circle and doesn't really mean all that much to anyone.

He gets to say he tore down this and that dumb Liberty Place Monument and can make his liberal glitterati think he's "done something" and can still turn around and make it look like he's appeased most of the other folks by keeping the two most prominent/visible/historically valuable monuments in place.

Dirtbag.

The bill that passed the house, doesn't apply to New Orleans Statues

Why would it not apply to New Orleans statues?

Jazzfest?

I'm on my way with my HK USP 9 (supressed). Only for self protection. I won't start trouble. I hope trouble doesn't find me.

this is from the Advocate article on HB71

quote:

Carmody said HB71 could not stop the two-year effort by the City Council in New Orleans to move to museums or other locations, the statues of three Confederate luminaries that dominate major intersections. If approved and signed into law, the act probably wouldn't take effect in time, he said, a position other representatives disputed.

Cute little quip, but in reality, these people have nothing to worry about.

It's the crazy MFs on the left who massacre police. The body armor is just window dressing or something to demonize those who oppose this action.

Is the city not in violation of the court ruling that said this had to be done a certain way? Seems as though someone should file something. I'm not a lawyer so...

just FYI... HB71 goes into effect as soon as it's either...

signed into law by JBE

hits the requisite time of sitting on the Gov.'s desk without signature or veto to become law

or a veto is overridden by the state legislature

I liked the line someone stated last week on the OT-

Something to be effect of if the statues could come to life on their own they'd leave NOLA in shame.

My spin:
They wouldn't want to be associated with the asshat race-baiting hacks who are nominally the city fathers.

A bunch of these near the statues would end this foolishness most rikki-tik.

The M14 mine is a small (56 mm [2.2 in] diameter) anti-personnel land mine first deployed by the U.S. circa 1955.[1]

The M14 mechanism uses a belleville spring to flip a firing pin downwards into a stab detonator when pressure is applied.

Once deployed, the M14 is very difficult to detect because it is a minimum metal mine, i.e. most of its components are plastic.

Because of this, the design was later modified to ease mine clearance via the addition of a steel washer, glued onto the base of the mine.

You going to shoot the guys on the boom truck?

If it was really for self defense you wouldnt be voluntarily driving there from Slidell and bragging about packing heat.

It hasn't passed just got out of House Committee still has to pass the full House and then go to Senate Committee and then the full Senate. If it gets an amendment in the Senate it'll probably have to go to a Conference Committee. And then JBE has to sign it. I'm not sure it can get out of committee on the Senate side.

Not even halfway through the process, and time is running out on the Legislative Session only about 30 days left.
