Let's everybody mark up a map of 5 parish area and post a pic of where you would make the loop. bridge, connections, etc. We all have our ideas and would probably want eminent domain to be kept at a minimum. I will post mine a little later.

I made this about a year ago.

Right, that’s what I have in mind.

A northern loop wouldn't be bad but it would not do shite to address the traffic due to the population shift in Ascension, LSU traffic, most of the plant baw traffic nor anything related to the west side of the river (ie: Brusly-Plaquemine).

I know years ago under Kip the plan included a northern section up through Central/Pride. I don't really see that as being necessary. The cost would probably outweigh the benefits at this time. The southern bypass is badly needed.

BR was ruined by Judge Parker and the deseg case.

It's amazing how one a-hole judge ruined an entire city. It's sad really. BR had so much potential.

A northern loop would provide some benefit. The land up there is a little higher and there's plenty of it open for development, it just doesn't have the high-capacity access.

The problem is it would pull only the traffic passing completely through the area out of Baton Rouge (along with some plant baws working at Exxon but living in the LP). I would like to see a northern loop eventually (and think it will be needed some day as growth south on 10 and east on 12 will eventually reach a breaking point).

Right now though we really need a southern one to channel the growth already going on as well as for traffic control.

Dude, they have had better than 30 years to plan shite out. Are you suggesting we look at it a little longer...waste more time get more traffic and then determine the plans to be obsolete?

What the frick are you talking about? The link provides exactly what will be done and in what order. frick some of you people are retarded.

It’s a big chore that will cost $360 million and could take up to 10 years to complete.

I can believe 10 years.

But it's going to cost at least $600 million.

I think Hooper road should cross the Amite River and link up to Highway 16 in Livingston.

A similar crossing would be needed at South Harrell's ferry road.

Should I assume that I-10 will be upgraded from one lane at the 110 bottleneck?

I've seen the drawing of the Harrell's Ferry route and I think it would come into Pete's Highway? But that was a long time ago. Never seen anything on Hooper although I have heard it discussed over the years.

cause its a good way to alleviate some of the congestion on the bridge.

But what does bridge congestion have to do with the oil spill?

or maybe that local politician actually did something while yours was sitting on his arse.

My issue isn’t so much that local politicians beg for money, it’s that money that impacted th cost and commerce is being used not for coastal restoration or commerce.

why don't you get more involved in the process rather than bitching about things after they happen?

I can’t vote against things happening in WBR or Any parish outside EBR and I certainly
Vote for politicians who I think (more like pray) don’t view citizens and companies as revenue streams as opposed To opportunity generators.

Throw up some “No loads over 5,500lbs” on the 10.

Problem solved. You’re welcome.

Yet 35W between 820 and 114 remains a nightmare.

because in all that huge 35-W project they only managed to add toll lanes and those don't even go past 820 very far

I rode around the south some over the holidays.

Mobile and Jackson both have 6 lanes for awhile heading north out of town. FTW is bigger than both combined and only has 4 lanes if you don't count the ones that keep turning into exit only lanes.

Now what they did is probably supposed to last the next 20+ years as another million people move into the north side of FT Worth

A Southern Loop really does nothing with removing truck traffic and the wetlands/environmental impact is way greater than a northern loop. The NL would bypass truck traffic to I-12 more efficiently.
