Wha... what about after that age?

Anything after 39 is post-midlife in the U.S. Once you are closer to death than birth you stop listening to advice from the OT.

Warm up good before working out.

Make sure you have enough money saved for retirement.

If you find a pair of pants you like buy ten of them.

All these are quality. Probably the best time to start putting salary increases towards retirement/investment instead of lifestyle creep.

45 years old: Drinking just as much as I always have (too much). Only change is lightened my diet and lifting weights at a gym 5 days a week. Feeling real good! All numbers are down after starting lifting weights. Not bragging, just proud of myself.

I do. I'm almost 38, got called "sir" twice last week. I did not care for that.

If I was a bar manager, part of training new bartenders would be to make sure they don't call anybody "sir" unless they're truly older than dirt.

Getting called "sir" by a chick bartender is demoralizing.

Workout when you are young. Get your body used to it now.

Can say it’s 100% worth it at 35. I just started lifting for the first time back in February. I’m the strongest I’ve ever been, by far. I tried several times when I was younger, but it always made me frickin’ miserable. Only thing I can attribute the difference to this time around is having given up alcohol 3 years ago.

Now I’m waking up at 3am and lifting every single day. The timing is a little crazy, but you do what you’ve got to do when you have a 1 year old running around all waking hours of the day.

This is true. I'm months away from 70 and working my arse off to get in better physical shape and building muscle is damned difficult. I mean, I look more toned and healthy, but I'd like to build more mass in my core and with a bulging disc at the #3 vertebrae, the training can't take place at the pace or push that I'd like, plus at my age you have to work against nature. To that effect, I'm meeting my new family doctor this Thursday. My long time doctor retired, and he recommended this guy because of his extensive experience with patients having my back condition but want to remain active and work out, plus, he has a nutritionist on staff who can monitor and advise me on my diet, protein intake and other nutritional products and aminos to help with muscle gain to reduce BMI, not necessarily drop weight. Right now, I'm at a BMI of 27, but a year ago I was at a BMI of 36.5, so I'm getting to where I want to be, but it is a slow and steady process at this age. Retiring has helped tremendously to have the time to focus on myself instead of 'the company' and everyone else getting all of my time, and energy.

36 here. I do notice certain sorenesses that last a little longer than before but all in all I still hit the gym/lift weights on a regular basis and feel like I’m in my 20s so not many complaints yet for me as I venture into my late 30s lol.

I’m 39 and exited sales and have totally shifted my career. I started my own business. I grew tired of not agreeing with business decisions and I actually care about people and their money. My feeling is if I do the right thing in the field I’m an expert at I’ll set my kids up.
