From the same team, I met Avery Johnson when I was a kid in Las Vegas. He talked to my family and I for like 15 minutes. He’s from New Orleans and remembered playing against my uncle in high school. He was a very down to earth and nice man.

I've run across a lot of celebs on the airplane over the years, reading these posts involving people I've met are fairly consistent, the assholes seem to always be assholes and the nice folks seem to always be nice

Not really an a-hole, but ran into Guy Fieri at the Super Bowl in NOLA, went to shake his hand and he looked at me like I was unclean (we were both kinda drunk), and opted for a fist bump instead.

Nice:
-Shaq
-Charles Barkley
-Russell Wilson

Weird:
-Jim Peterick (Guitarist from Europe)

I couldn’t believe it at first because I’d heard he was standoffish, but hell who wouldn’t be in his shoes.

They were at a nice place so I assume he felt comfortable that they weren’t complete googans.

I always wonder why people care about entertainers. Like, why? You act like they're IDOLS or something

they are singing and dancing monkeys. i do not understand why people allow them to garner so much influence.

They bring over Marcus Luttrell who's daughter apparently went to LSU and he was in town for her graduation.

It was his son. He is married to a distant distant cousin of me. She told me her Great Grandmother was a Plauché from Plaucheville. Then I told her, "Then we are related."

Ancestry confirmed it! I did his podcast a few years back.

After the Giants beat the Vikings in the 2000 NFC Championship game at The Meadowlands and I went by the buses after the game to say hey to Gabe Northern. Me and a friend of mine who was from Minnesota were there.

He tried to say hello to Chris Carter, wearing a #80 Viking jersey and he was a dick. My friend can't stand Chris Carter to this day.

At the Foundation Room in Vegas after a big fight night. Standing at the bar, trying to get a drink and a dude slaps me on the back and bellies up next to me like we were old friends. We stand there for 5 or so minutes making small talk, dude was super cool and he completely initiated the conversation. I finally get served, shake his hand and tell him to have a good night.

I get back to my table and my buddy who follows the NBA said, "you were just hanging with Doc Rivers!" It was when he was still a player in Orlando.

There were about 20 other famous folks in there that night. My right elbow touched christina aguilera the same night.

Doc Rivers was the only celeb that I talked to though.

Steve Elkington had a bad round at the Shell Houston Open in early ‘90’s and tried to plow through a crowd leaving the event in his Suburban courtesy car. Total prick. A few of us flipped him off. He was the only golfer (or person) to drive on that road.

Harry Connick Jr. is a genuinely very cool person, kind and considerate.
Wrestler Dustin Rhoades was super cool.

Will Clark refused to give autographs to any kids at the Astrodome circa 1989.

I was at a wedding right after Will Clark was in the World Series and he was there as a groomsman. I don't follow MLB so I legit had no idea who he was. People kept saying "Will Clark is here!" so I said "who is Will Clark?" and they pointed at him across the room. About five minutes later, I look up and he is standing in front of me. He says (I will never forget this quote): "I thought I would come over so you can say you met me." I was dumbfounded and just shook his hand and he walked off. There were a million great comebacks and I couldn't think of one in the moment.

But that's not the end of the story. Six months ago (34 years later) I am at an event at Covey Rise in Hammond. He is there and I meet him again. Absolutely the nicest humble guy I have met in a long time. I was anxious to tell him the story of what an a-hole he was to me but after meeting him again I couldn't do it. We ended up hanging out and drinking beer for a couple of hours with a group of his coworkers.

Pre cellphone cam days.

She was a waif of a woman and her body guard's shoulders were like 80" across. He blocked the entire door walking in.

Also saw Alanis Morsette getting a burrito at a gas station in Big Sur. She was nice and did allow my fried to get a pic with her.

Met Shaq at Don Carter’s Allstar Lanes when I was 14. He signed an autograph for me and also played an arcade game with me for about 15 minutes. He was a Jr at the time.

A pro golfer is about to swing and a kid ducks under the ropes and enters the tee box area?

It was shitty of him to address a patron in that manner but let's be honest with ourselves here that little kid is massively to blame as well

I don't blame Bubba for being annoyed, but if you are going to curse at a patron that paid money to come see you play, you better get it right. He got it wrong and insulted a guy who had nothing to do with the incident. So, because of that, frick Bubba.

Met a lot of people from Bayou Country Superfest 2010-2012 when I was in college on the Geaux Team. They were exceptionally pleasant.

I like to play golf but I'd rather watch paint dry or girls travel softball than watch pro golf, I have been to a few big tournaments though, and my experience was not the hush hush, everyone speaking in low reverent tones like on tv, at all
