I used to eat breakfast next to Billy Cannon every Sunday morning back in the day at Russell’s on Airline. After a while we can expected to seat next to each other and one day he takes my LSU hat and signs inside it a message and an autograph without me asking. Nice guy.

Around 1992, meteorologist Bruce Katz and his wife were my parent’s neighbors in Shenandoah in Baton Rouge. I had just graduated college in meteorology. I went to his house and he was by far one of the nicest down to earth people you would want to meet.

I figured I caught him at a bad time because he and his dad and wife were going out to eat. We talked for about twenty minutes and he invited me to have dinner with his family. I respectfully declined because it was a special occasion for his family. Bruce is good people.

You could have told him "well Mr. Greene, I watch LSU games from the stands or on tv, which is the same as what you've done considering you've never played against LSU......sir, so how about i get a ride on that golf cart"

Did he not play at Auburn?

Him: "what have you done?"

Me: "I've been walking around this stadium for a while"

My mom is good friends with Biggio's wife, so our families have gotten together a bunch over the years. They are the nicest, most down to earth family ever. Impossibly kind and generous people, the whole lot of them. They invited us to Cooperstown for Craig's HOF induction which was a surreal experience.

My kid was in preschool with one of Jimmy Johnson’s(NASCAR) kids, and also a children’s music program. He and Chandra were always very nice and down to earth. Saw him quite a bit when our kids were in the same class.
They were dining outside at a local place one night as we were walking by and saw us and said hello.

Not as much direct interaction,,but I’m pretty sure I can say the exact opposite of Jeff Gordon. Well, not sure about him so much, but his wife seems to be a Major Bitch.

In 2016 I was sitting in the jockey club bar at Monmouth Park next to leading trainer Jorge Navarro. A fan walked up to him and asked "How do you like your horse in this race?" Navarro replied "How the phuck you think I like him? I'm not your friend."
I was quite pleased when karma caught up with his cheating arse. In 2021 he was sentenced to 5 years for doping his horses. Total A-Hole.

yes, but that was before we started playing Auburn every year.
he played there in '83 and '84, and Auburn didn't play against LSU in those years.

Every story about Shaq seems so positive. My grandma even after dementia was kicking in. Would still talk about the time she was at a Luncheon at the L club and she talked to Shaq for a long time.

I never met him personally but I've heard the stories of him just randomly buying stuff for people at Walmart and home depot

I was sitting down at the LHSAA coaches convention about to listen to Fred Pagac from Ohio State give a talk on defense. Somebody slides into the chair next to me, it’s Saban. As he talks I notice Saban writing notes/defensive alignments on the one small piece of paper he had on him, and he’s running out of room. I tore a couple of sheets of paper from my tablet and handed it to him and said,”here you go coach”. He didn’t look at me or say a word, just grabbed the paper and kept on writing. My friends and I still laugh about it.

There’s a huge line of kids at the NBA Jam game. It must have been every kid in the place. Shaq is on the left with someone I didn’t recognize. he lets each kid play one quarter. 2 kids at a time vs him and his friend. When it’s my turn I'm shoving him every time he gets the ball. (hitting the 2 buttons at once). He’s playing his character. I see his character on screen not moving. I look over(way up) at him. He’s just glaring at me. Then gives this huge smile. I quite shoving him.

When he leaves he drives off in a jeep wrangler with his head sticking out the top and looking over the windshield

This sounds like the most Shaq thing ever

When Saban was coaching at LSU he stopped by my place of business for a meeting with one of our managers. I greeted him and as I walked him to the office of the person he was meeting I said "Coach, I'm also from West Virginia. Do you ever miss it up there?" He said "Nope" and kept walking. Not another word was said. Lol
