Sort of. Life (and a baby or two) happens, and when people are comfortable they get complacent. Believe it or not, a woman who is dating and not married is much more likely to stay in shape, as her status can change much more quickly than a married woman.
The other point, is try telling your 30 year old wife that she's getting fat and needs to step it up and let me know how it goes.
