7.99 lb bone in ribeye this week.

Their meat selections never look that good imo. $7.99 for ribeyes right now unless it's some huge sale and I'm questioning the quality of the meat

Lucky for me, my wife deals with all that nonsense.

I use the app as damn near a game. I feel it saves me significantly. And the meat I’ve bought at Albertsons is fresher than the meat at Kroger. Makes no sense to me, but Kroger has chicken that is slimy and has about a 25% chance of smelling off

Don't frick with inexpensive ribeyes. I'd rather eat a top notch steak once every 2-3:weeks than a mediocre steak weekly.

My first apt out of college I went to the closest grocery store that had the same name I was used to. I hated going there, it was dusty, gross, small store only 2 checkout lines. For some reason it made the food less appealing. Sketchy people in the parking lot. I honestly hated going there.

One day I went the other way down the street and it ended in a different grocery store chain. It was huge. Clean. Big, easily accessible parking lot. honestly felt like it was glowing the first time i drove by it

This is an odd thread. But oddly I can relate. Changed my mental state finding this other store. Just remember being so happy

It's important to me.

I'm gonna spend 30-60 mins a week shopping and then some if I need something for the week I forgot. I need a clean parking lot, the knowledge my item will be there, good produce and meat choices, etc.

I'm sure there are things in your life where I'd say you are taking it too seriously.

I don't live in CENLA, but everyone one of those stores is available where I live. Rarely do I go to any of them and not get the items that I need. I mostly shop at an Albertsons and have no issues.

I would much rather go into a store that is well stocked that has a true meat dept, and has great customer service even if it costs an extra $10-$15…..

Fact. I won’t step foot in it now.

One thing the northern states have that blows southern states out of the water with is grocery stores - go to a Wegman's and you'll agree. HyVee is very good as well. HEB in Texas is about as good as it gets for the south.

Is it because some northern grocers are union shops as opposed to southern stores that are very anti union?

But then in the south you have outliers like Publix and HEB.

One area where Publix shines is that Publix is employee owned so employees give a crap about things when they are part owners.

HEB, I don’t know their secrets to success. Maybe they pay their workers well above the minimum wage.

Not sure where you are at but in the BR area, the Oak Point market in Watson and the Rouses market at Juban crossing are two of the finest stores I’ve ever been in.

lol. I started reading this thread expecting to hear your story of moving back home to the country, population of 375 back in the intersection of a town.

Come to learn you have half a dozen grocery stores, which means you probably have access to more shite via delivery.

I have a solid 20 grocery store of all types within 10 min of my house and not one of them tickles my fancy for all things.

We are potentially moving back to Louisiana as our parents are getting older, and this is actually a bigger concern of mine than I expected.

Walmart products with Whole Food prices!

Rouses is straight up trash. We need an HEB takeover.
