I’ll never live in a state without an H-E-B.

I’m in Mobile. It’s inconsistent for sure, but usually better to catch stuff on sale W-F

I have been to Whole Foods maybe 5 or 6 times in my life. If you thought Rouses was bad price wise, Whole Foods wipe a family 6’s EBT benefits in one trip.

It pretty much depends on the location. I’ll gladly pay a little more at Publix for convenience. There’s one about 3 minutes from the house. Great for stopping to grab something to cook on the way home. There’s also two Walmart neighborhood markets. I drive twice as far, so 10 minutes instead of 5, to go to the one that is clean, well stocked, with good employees. I’ve come to know the workers in the pharmacy pretty well. And there are a few regulars working the checkouts. Plus they still have at least 2-3 checkouts manned at all times. The other one feels like a ghetto grocery store. Same company but the better location is worth going just a tad further.

The only reason Louisiana people move to Texas is really a chance to shop at HEB.

What kind of retard needs customer service in a Grocery Story? Go in get what you want, pay for it and leave.

I don't know, I guess they are talking about the specialty items like meat.

When I lived in California, when the state was a great place to live they had nice local grocery stores all over the place. Living in L.A. you have every ethnic grocery store you could think of.

Living in a big metro area on the West Coast.
Loved the weather in California and living by the coast.
You have the Desert on the East side of the state.
Loved having specialty stores, restaurants, and grocery stores close to you.
Hated the traffic and smog.

Once again….. 1st world problems. We have it so good that we complain about having multiple options, a place we can walk into 7 days a week and purchase just about any low cost food item our little heart desires.

I live in CENLA. Sounds like you gave up convenience for land and rural. I am in the same boat and you won’t hear me bitch about it. Suck it up and deal with it or move back. It is what it is. We make a menu for the month, get our necessities and make due with what we have.
