Kids have very much been kidnapped from department stores before
I’d be interested to see stats on this that don’t involve kids named Adam Walsh.

This was going to be my question. Has there ever been a case where someone walks up to a kid while the kid is with their parent in a Walmart or similar store and just tries to kidnap the kid?
You have to qualify this as stranger danger. This has happened whenever. It's like a family-custody dispute
Some insane percentage of kidnappings are based in some sort of custody dispute or by family or friends of family.

There are cameras everywhere, including in the parking lot. How would he expect to get away? If the mom just starts yelling that someone stole her kid, hows he going to get out?
What criminals are often not the smartest, you are correct that this makes no sense. I primarily was pointing it out to the predator looking for his prey silliness

Just because something is rare doesn't mean you just automatically assume he had no bad intentions. Kids have very much been kidnapped from department stores before.
By strangers while they are sitting on their parent’s lap?
Sure kids who wander off have been kidnapped, but I would be shocked if you could find an example of a stranger walking up to a parent in a store and grabbing their kid and running off.

Like I said though, if this guy went on about his business and bought Tylenol after this incident, I'd tend to lean more toward his side I think. But this logic:
He did buy Tylenol. There is even video that continues to follow him where he seems to not be able to find it, he locates a blue vested Walmart Worker and they point him to the Tylenol. He immediately gets the Tylenol and passes the lady on the way out and holds the Tylenol up as he walks by and says something to her.

And if you can't find Tylenol who would ask for help from someone riding a motorized scooter with 2 kids that does not work at the store
Have you been to a wal-mart recently? Finding an employee to help you is a herculean task.

Compounded if you're on an errand for your significant other and it's in the part where all the shelves are locked

Predators look for perceived weak prey (lady in motorized scooter) he sought her out for some BS (can't find Tylenol) and made his move.
Does the fact that his "move" was unsuccessful not register to you that maybe that wasn't his "move?" If he wanted to kidnap this kid....how would this lady stop him? The video shows no "back and forth" struggle. And who is just casually laughing and relaxing right after their child was almost kidnapped, like this lady is accusing?

The guy is a convicted felon who stole from Fulton County schools years ago. I have met this guy a few times. While the video is not incriminating at all (the lady used the wheelchair because her kids wanted to ride in it), this guy is not a good guy, IMO.

The lady made similar accusations about a year ago against Lyft. Dumb bitch ran over her kid in the scooter a few minutes before this interaction. A white guy helped that time. They also had an interaction after he found the Tylenol and she wasn’t screaming he tried to kidnap my kid then. I between the two interactions she was talking and laughing with other customers in the store. Also the lady clearly had mental problems if you’ve seen any video of her speaking.
Dude is being railroaded. And dude is still in jail yet we have a murder like Karmelo Anthony free on the streets? Ridiculous.
And after the "attempted kidnapping" he went and found tylenol casually. These are absurd charges. The lady is insane.

I generally believe Patels over scooter people.

Such a good point. If all I knew was one person was named Patel, and the other was using a scooter she didnt need in a wal mart....I know who I'm giving the benefit of the doubt to

If I was on jury judging this guy, with the facts presented in this thread, I would have reasonable doubt and vote the guy not guilty.

What? If something is a rare event, it is going to take more evidence to convince a neutral party that it happened. Do you not understand statistics?

Just ask the ones pulling the instacart stuff. They know where everything is.

Fat ugly women love to say on Facebook that Mexicans looked like they wanted to kidnap their kids in wal mart. Never seen one make it to court though.

Mahendra Patel has pleaded guilty to conspiring with former Atlanta Public Schools (APS) Chief Information Officer (CIO) Jerome Oberlton to receive kickbacks in exchange for Oberlton using his influence at APS to award a $780,000 computer project to the firm.
“Patel subverted the fairness of the contracting process for his own benefit, and ultimately undermined the trust taxpayers place in APS to provide high-quality educational services,” said United States Attorney Sally Quillian Yates. “In a time when educational resources are scarce or often non-existent, his fraud helped steer a lucrative computer contract to the highest bidder – one that was willing to line his pockets in exchange for work.”

But why give the kid back if that’s what he wanted? That doesn’t make sense either.
Why stay around calmly and walking peacefully with the employee? He seemed to not once fight back

Does he have anything in his history to indicate he’s a kidnapper?
The display she “hit” doesn’t move or at least appear to move - seems like a box or two might fall off. Hell, if I walk past some of those aisle displays I. Walmart to fast shite falls off them.
