Would never leave my wife. All people get old, sometimes they get sick, being 100lbs overweight is undoubtedly a sickness (physically and mentally). Loving someone is helping them get thru it.

Your friend should never have gotten married, and certainly shouldn't have reproduced.
What part of for better or worse did he not understand? He didn't love her for who she was, and unfortunately all it took was weight gain for her to find out. God forbid she get paralyzed.
