Walking around - We're in the first half of the second season. A lot of people are visiting for the first time every single game. It'll probably die down some, but most stadiums are like this.

Cell phone - Did you just wake up from 1990? That complaint could be about any event, or any facet of life, actually.

Seems like you’re not really watching the game yourself but are watching what everyone else’s doing. Pay attention to the game!
Reminds me of my MIL. Says she goes to Mass on Sunday, but watches who sits where, who was with their spouse or not, who went to Communion or not, what little children were playing games on cell phones and “not paying attention Mass” who was wearing what etc etc etc. But she went to church Sunday.

Even back in the 90s when I watched the Braves, it was similar. By and large Braves fans are for the most part some of the more unenthusiastic fans you will find in MLB.

I might say it's the move to the burbs. That's not to say it doesn't happen at other stadiums - probably even iconic Wrigley and Fenway.

Don't let it get you down as long as it doesn't interfere with your viewing. The teams don't care as those tickets are bought and those people walking around might buy the $25 broomstick hot dog or big as nachos

You sound poor. $50 bucks to people watch at a ballpark is a heck of a deal.

This is actually a very calculated, and intended result. Because of TV, leagues and teams are trying to figure out how to up the "entertainment" factor in the stadium beyond just the game itself.

I don’t like all the strikeouts. Makes for bad baseball.

I also don’t like the weird arse commercials ESPN does for the games.

I also still abhor the fact that Jessica Mendoza does Sunday Night Baseball.

Based on the rest of your post, I'm going to say this is a lie. Sounds like you watch the fans and what the players have in their mouthes.

Not as bad as the slow clapper at the Box or super fan at softball.

A Couple Gripes about watching the game of Baseball

Watching the Phillies game last night, I did not see this. I only notice it at Braves Home games. It drives me nuts. You spend $50 to go watch a baseball game and all you do is walk around?

Next, the amount of people playing on their damn cell phone during a game. I saw at leas 20 people playing on their cell phone for the entire game. You spend money to go watch a baseball game and all you do during the game is play on your cell phone?

Oh. Ok I actually agree with you, although I don't pay much attention to the fans.

Finally, I am so sick and tired of watching every single player chomp on bubble gum throughout the entire game. It annoys the living shite out of me.

chomp chomp chomp chomp

This one's kinda weak OP

Generally speaking, Atlanta sports fans are kind of ho hum because most are from somewhere else or at least their parents were.
More true of Falcons than Braves, but still...
Also. Wasn't SunTrust Park and the area immediately around it pretty specifically designed for a "full experience" rather than just the baseball games. Welcome to sports facilities in the 21st century, I guess. Lots to do besides spectate.

I thought Turner Field was pretty solid, honestly, but SunTrust is supposed to blow it away. Looking forward to attending a game there later this summer(and maybe walking around a little bit)

The new park is great but Turner wasn't much different. The only thing that is different is that there are a few more vendors/restaurants. Everything else kind of looks the same

As someone who grew up playing baseball, it now seems like a completely bizarre sport the way it's handled now, specifically with the high number of games, often at odd days/times, and the minor league setup and process.

No.

Because I'm watching the game and DGAF what strangers are doing.

Um, the number of games, oddity of game times, and minor league process and setup has been largely unchanged for at least 50+ years now. Sure you didn't play soccer or something?

That's not OCD.

Don't squirt your sure to be in your mind annoying neighbors with a water hose. That doesn't end well.

My favorite thing to do at Baseball games is eat and drink. Taking naps is also fun.

The stadium has hosted MAYBE 100 games. It's still extremely new and folks like to explore it. It's got some really cool features that you can't exactly enjoy from your seat.

Also, Atlanta is a terrible sports town. Not sure that matters here, but it's true.

This I'll give you, not only because it's very annoying to see so many people always glued to their screen, but you've got to pay attention at a baseball game if you're anywhere near foul ball range.
