Speaking of aging poorly, that Dogde would look nice today with updated rims. Wasn't a fan even in those back in the day either.

I'm going to assume he had lots of sex.

I like the Speed Zone intro better. The dad teaching his son to skip rocks and then the contact skips over the water.
Fake but cool.

I believe it, the GN was no slouch and the Countach had some taller gears

Coon-tosh

As a kid growing up when there were limited videos involving the car I thought it was pronounced ‘Cown-tack’

Because Lamborghini didn't have a test track, he went to the local police, and asked the chief of police if he would kindly stop giving tickets to Balboni, because he was tired of paying the fine. The police chief said, well either Drive slower, or get a licence to drive fast (as a joke). Lamborghini had an idea then, and went to the government and pleaded his case, stating that Lamborghini was a world status symbol, and making Italy look good. And he needed somewhere to make the car drive more sporty, making more exports possible. Three weeks later Balboni obtained a special licence.

If they would've put the C8 PR team in charge of that it would've lasted 3 days.

Two days of it would have been about the Holy Roman Empire...

It is interesting to look back at that time in supercar history. Time has not been so kind to the poster worthy looks of the Lamborghinis while Ferruccio Lamborghini was building the Countach Enzo was building this:

And then this

I remember riding my bicycle from Watson to Denham Springs and would pass by Alex Theriots house hoping to catch a glimpse of his countach if his garage was open. Lucky enough one time he was outside polishing it so I rode up to look at it. He had pictures of it in his glove compartment that he handed out to us. Great day lol

Those cars are more high maintenance than a hot stripper with coke habit, but damn near as much fun.

The positive about the Countach, 288 GTO and F40 is when you are finished riding them you can all your money back and more...

The 288 is a great looking car, the F40 however aesthetically does absolutely nothing for me.

The crazy cool thing is how obtainable that level of performance is today.
The 1987 Countach had 449 HP with 369 ft-lbs torque and took 4.8 sec for 0-62.

You can go to your local Ford dealer and get a stock Mustang GT off the lot for <$35k.
It has 460 HP with 420 ft-lbs torque and can go 0-60 in under 4 seconds. It will beat that 1987 Lambo in a 1/4 mile, and will probably spank it on a track too.

And it will be comfortable and well-behaved to drive around town.

And it will go 100k miles without breaking a sweat.

And it will do it getting 21 mpg city, compared to the Countach's 6 mpg city.

It is a glorious time to like fast cars...

Have you crunched the numbers on the amount of vaginas one would acquire in that GT versus a Countach on the strip in '87?

Maybe so but that Grand National wasn't even in the same Time Zone when it came to making panties drop.

It's all relative, I sure as hell would rather the slower Countach everyday and twice on Sunday.
