True story:
From Southern LA, but moved to OK in 6th grade.
My father was typical Southern LA guy, and used language that you would associate from the south.
It bothered me and my friends growing up.
I graduated high school, and went back to LA to go to LSU. A couple of friends came down and on a hungover day went to Popeyes at lee and highland, which was a 1/4 mile from my place at Highland Plantation (circa 2003). About an hour later, they came back and one friend retorted, “I kinda understand why your dad is the way he is”.
The Popeyes in Foley, AL is great!!!

Back in the old days I used to go to a Popeyes in Atlanta that had a giant, gaudy three foot tall trophy sitting on the counter next to the cash registers. At first I thought this was for winning some type of softball tournament or something but one day I looked at the inscription plaque and it said something ridiculous like "best service and management of any franchise in the nation!" First, I'm 99% certain Popeyes corporate doesn't had out giant Nascar-like trophies which means some jackass manager there had it made. Second, what made this obscene trophy even more infuriating was this particular Popeye's franchise was the worst I have ever seen which is saying something. They always messed up your order, gave zero shits and I saw multiple fights in there.

I went to the one on government in BR last year. It was super weird. No wait, pleasant staff, hot, fresh, and the got the order right.

The Popeyes near me is hit or miss. They have a no nonsense manager that keeps them on a short leash. When you see her, you pretty much know your order will be right and quickly done. With the other manager, there is no guarantee on anything and you take your chances when you show up.

The cleanest Popeyes I've ever been to is in Belle Glade, FL, of all places*.

Popeyes in Texas are next level because they replace the big mamas with hard working Mexicans. Clean restaurants, decent service, fresh food. Incredible

Lived in south Louisiana my first 25 years then in central Texas for 5 years. The service was better in TX but they don’t cook the chicken as well as the Louisiana ones.
I always went inside at the Louisiana locations, made the experience so much better than drive-thru.
Also the app has made it even easier.
