I was 25 before I even knew what electrical engineering was.

He's definitely advanced. I was 19 before I realized that I hated electrical engineering.

Hell no, my little Braxtyn would smoke him on three pitches! And other than parents egos being stroked, any particular advantage to getting an EE degree at nine?

Amazing how you cornered the ONE child prodigy in history to do something horrible and used that as some sort of prediction to his future. Not really surprised.

If he is that intelligent there is no reason to hold him back with the rest of the slow crowd.
Do you want you kid taking special needs classes?

The school is trying to play the it both ways here:
They knew he was planning to graduate within a year when he enrolled and now the school is high and mighty? Both are wrong here

In a statement, Eindhoven's University of Technology said it would not be feasible for Laurent to complete the course before turning 10, while also developing "insight, creativity and critical analysis". If he were to rush the course, the statement said, his academic development would suffer.
The university also cautioned against placing "excessive pressure on this nine-year-old student" who, it said, had "unprecedented talent".

Reminds of parents who have kids in travel tai kwon do or karate, “my little Jeighdyn has a black belt in the eleventy -thousandth degree,” okay, so you paid for your five year old to get some new clothes and accessories, he’s ready to go into the real world and mix it up with adults? nah, probably not

Those parents just buy an SUV and join travel ball. They don't sign them up for the draft in a professional sport.
Plenty of little kids score in the top 0.1% or better of intelligence tests but proceed through school normally. There is almost certainly someone here whose child has a classmate who's smarter than this kid, and that hypothetical classmate is probably a fairly typical kid.

The OT could fly this kid in to make breakfast for West Palm Tiger.
He is probably a master behind the iron and uses yeast. #straightouttaantwerp If we only had a TD member fluent in flemish.
