How many times do you read where pit bull owners say the dog never hurt their kids so it could not have possibly hurt/killed someone else's dog/kid......

Wow. I challenge you to go adopt a rescue pit from the shelter and see if isn't the best dog you've ever had.

spend time with your kids instead of worrying about some dog to adopt. everyone has been watching too many of these sad/take care of me bullshite commercials that have been constantly on lately.

personally I've only bought pure bred dogs, so I know exactly what they were meant for and what their personality traits will be. you get what you pay for too, even with animals.

My good friend had a rescue pit. Seemed extremely nice and the guy said it was a great dog.

2 months later after stitches up his hand and wrist

Him - "It isn't his fault. He felt cornered and is a rescue"
Me -"What were you doing?"
Him - "Raking leaves"

Seems it's always multiple dogs.

As much as you want to hate the breed (which I don't necessarily disagree with), there's a reason these attacks happen almost exclusively in trailer parks, in apartments, or from dogs chained in backyards in poor areas. It's irresponsible ownership.

I would argue that the reason so many of the reported attacks are from pit bulls is that pit bulls are by nature very large and muscular dogs and so when they attack, they do more damage and kill more often than other breeds.

No one reports when a dachshund bites their ankle.

We usually hear about 1 pitbull taking down a 3 year old.

Now, with this news, 3 pitbulls were needed to take down a 9 year old.

That's a trend!

How many pitbulls are needed to take you down?

10+ pitbulls are needed to best me.

You'd think this trend would break down as you get older, but then you have to consider old man strength...so it still holds up!

I can't believe that people still defend the pit bull breed

Have you noticed that every story involving a pit bull attack also involves trashy or ghetto owners/parents?

so you have a dog of unknown mixed breed with a red nose from a rescue. know what breed is common in shelters, commonly allowed to run loose and intact by trashy owners, can have a red nose, and is known for aggressive behavior? but sure, blame the golden retriever side of the family.

I just wish they would irresponsibly own a dachsund or a pug or some other weakling, instead of the weaponized version of a dog. But it's the fact that the dog is aggressive that attracts trash to it.

This.

I know many college educated people with good lives that have dogs that have at least some pit bull in them that are just fine.

I see pits in town chained in the yard in front of some shitty house. I see, at least once a week, a pit stray running around town (sometimes with a broken chain).

When I go to take train photographs, I bring dog food with me in the trunk of my car. It is surprisingly common in those shite parts of town (where trains are) to see starving stray pits, hungry, so I feed them.

The one shitty neighbor on my street had a Chihuahua. The dog ran away and another neighbor adopted it. Then, they got a Pit. It was either chained or running loose, and it died of heartworms.

They then got a German Shepherd. Chained. Disappeared.

Now he (their son) has another pit puppy.
