OT but saw a couple of bison fight head to head in person last summer in Yellowstone. It was pretty sweet.

On our way back from Sturgis, a few years ago, my B-I-L and I made the way over to Yellowstone and found ourselves in a traffic jam caused by a buffalo herd..
A couple of the beasts were wandering down the middle of the road between the two lines of cars while some stupid people were even reaching out attempting to touch them. (SMH)
B-I-L and I did a U-turn and rode off out of the way thinking the Buffalo may see two guys on Harleys as a smaller challenge and we wanted no part of it. The B-I-L on a Harley did resemble a buffalo at a quick glance while I, on the other hand, looked more like Mr. Easy Rider.
In another instance, I was driving some small dirt roads in the Custer State Park up in South Dakota and met face to face with a buffalo herd. The road was on the side of a hill and thought it might be even worse trying to outrun the herd in reverse so we just sat there quietly hoping they'd just pass and leave us alone.
Most of them passed without incident but one tapped my rear view mirror while another gored the trunk of the rental. Fortunately just a nick that the rental car didn't notice.

She's actually a transplant from NJ now living in Greenville, SC.
Reminds me of the so-called "SC Woman" eaten by the alligator at Hilton Head. She was a dumbass transplant from Manhattan who had never seen anything in the wild bigger than a sewer rat.

Has that Bison been offered an athletic scholarship in the SEC yet?

"When asked how she felt, the woman said she was most upset that her favorite tattoo - A colorful image of Elvis riding a unicorn on a rainbow - had to be ruined in order to save her life."
"They should have just let me die," said the woman who is expected to need several weeks to recuperate from her injuries."
That is not the Bee. Just me having some fun with my deep knowledge of the local population.

I disagree. Let the idiots get taken out, Darwin style.

After visiting Yellowstone a few years ago the natural beauty of the springs and mud pits is undeniable but always in the back of my mind was how quick we would die should the boardwalk give way or you take a misstep where you shouldn’t. Danger is always close by in that park.

I see tourist doing stupid shite around bears all the time. I used to warn them, now frick it.
Stupidity needs to be weeded out of society. Bears and bison can do it legally.

The guy that leases the cow pasture behind the house had a huge Brangus bull. He would snort and stomp at anyone who came up to him - except for some reason he was cool with me (I gave him cow cubes).
I would always keep a fence between the bull and me. You just cannot trust something that is large and untamed.
The bull got a severe hoof infection that led to his "retirement." He would lie down and I could then walk up to him. I think he wanted some pity attention.

Park visitors are also being warned this week that elk with calves can be extremely dangerous.
Keiland Williams, thank you for your service.

We watched this guy get out of his car so he could follow this bear on foot. He was maybe 30 yards from it to follow.

If they are anything like a bull they can move with amazing speed.
I have no intention of messing around with either species.

This is another example of how they have to speak to infantilized adults, "Friend-shaped". I guess making warnings sound cute helps people realize and remember the wilderness isn't some big petting zoo.
The National Park Service social media presence is very pop-culture-ish at this point. I wouldn't take that as infantilizing adults. They're generally just a funny account.

We stayed by Canyon Village a few years ago. Turned the corner on the walk back from eating (there's a cluster of lodges, dining and shopping all connected by sidewalks)
When we turned the corner, this giant monster was right there. We calmly walked backwards and down another sidewalk to constantly move away from it. I didn't see the details, but I could easily see situations where an 83 year old lady could accidentally get in a bad situation.

That bison should have "FAFO" shaved into his hide.
..four more, and he's officially an ace.

She should be more careful. A person of that age is almost old enough to be president
