Never had the cassette. Bought the 8-Track in 1976 and wore it out. Bought another 8-Track in 1977/1978. Got the album in 1979/1980. Got the CD in 1987 and still have it. It’s been on every iPod or iPhone I’ve owned since 2004.

Junior High... 1982-ish timeframe... Probably bought at the K&B drug store or K-Mart...

First one I ever owned was a gift. It was the Jon Bon Jovi Single Miracle. The b-side was Blood Money. It was only 2 songs but I wore that tape out. The first one I bought was probably Metallica’s black album.

Man I don't remember. I know it's not the one but the only thing I can think of was one of those 2 song cassettes that they used to replace the 45s for awhile.

Now I do remember putting my first CD player (Discman), Def Leppard's Hysteria & Adrenalize, and 1 more on layaway. (Sucks that most of my older CDs got stolen from my fraternity room during a party...including all 3 of those originals.)

Green Day Dookie was first CD. Tape was either Live Throwing Copper or Alan Jackson.

Just jammed some Lightning Crashes less than 10 minutes ago.
