I still remember a cool front in early August 2004. Was in Destin / Miramar beach on vacation. It was upper 50s / low 60s in the am. It was nuts

I spent that weekend on the Mississippi coast and we had a great time being able to ride around all weekend in the boat without the heat. It was like living in another part of the country

Of course a year later my friend’s camp and many of the places we went were totally wiped out.

I'm going to UF's home opener and if it could be about 75 degrees instead of 2 degrees cooler than the temperature of the surface of the sun that would be awesome

This may sound strange but I have always said a cool front is coming when I start seeing love bugs. I saw one tonight on my patio.

They were everywhere at my house this weekend

I thought about that this morning while I started sweating

I'm seeing low 70s… need to hit 60s or it doesn’t count

Doesn't warm water fuel hurricanes? I don't know what "normal" is though.

It doesn’t look a deep enough pool of cold air up north to make it down this far. I’m thinking more low to mid 60’s. I’ll take what we can get.

Looks like we might make 89 on Thu. been a brutal summer so far since 2 Aug.

Will be tied for 6th Tue. But nothing beats 2011 we had 100 at midnight that year.

Friend,

We are enjoying ourselves a Portofino at Uncle’s as we get the first few bands of Isaiah. Gusts I would estimate have hit 45-50 MPH. But the reason I write is Mother said something quite important.

Mother accurately predicted Isaiah this year, when on Sunday she projected a Category 3 storm landing near Navarre. “This storm will be a repeat of Opal in ‘95,” she said shortly after church five days ago. The NHC and all the meteorguessologists were significantly off in timing, strength and landfall. But Mother showed her skill once more.

“Hurricane season for New Orleans comes to a close next week,” she announced just minutes ago as we watched the Gulf churn in the distance. And everyone within earshot turned and with the joy of watching a baby come into this world stood up and began cheering.

This will be the earliest Front Day since 2014. So please get your favorite drinking chocolates ready. The cookies and hymns will be waiting for you.

Yours,
TulaneLSU
