Well in this case if there wasn’t a camera filming, the offical report would say that the old man “tripped and fell” so yeah without video evidence they don’t face any consequences
this is an opinion. there is nothing to support this.
stop using hypotheticals and dramatic weightless retorts.
these officers fricked up, they will pay for it. stop being a drama queen.

Why is the old man approaching the riot control cops during a time of violence??
Play stupid games.
can y'all really not see the problem with this?

what is my idealistic view?
That you have a reasonable expectation to be treated with kindness and respect when approaching cops headed to a riot

and you are saying that I should expect bad outcomes if I walk up to a cop in riot gear, correct?
You should assume that's a very distinct possibility, yes.

I'm just stating that it's reasonable to assume something might go south if you stand in front police in riot gear advancing toward you. I'm not saying that's an acceptable or ideal assumption. I'm just saying it's the current reality. I don't like the heavy handedness of police, but I can still recognize it may result in something bad if/when I challenge them.
I agree with this.
Do you think the cop was in the right though?

Yeah I didn’t post anything about the cops reaction until that post you responded to so I didn’t change anything. I just added context to what the person I replied to said.
Good talk tho

were they headed to a riot?
and your view is that it is unreasonable to expect that treatment?

Doesn't look like he was from what I've seen.

I don't think they were marching to church.

Are you one of those people that think it's victim blaming to say women shouldn't walk down a dark alley drunk at 3 a.m. and expect to be safe?

No it’s a fact. Their official report and their official statement from the office about the riots that day before the video came out stated that the man tripped and fell. And with no witnesses or video evidence and 100 cops who are gonna back the blue, the cops would’ve gotten off without punishment

So you don't know that they were marching towards a riot?

so I didn’t change anything. I just added context to what the person I replied to said.
why are you so scared to admit the man was not ignored after he hit the ground?

Well then I have no argument with you.

What the frick does that even matter? They're obviously geared up for a reason. Normal people would look at them and think they were there because something was possibly about to go down. You're completely missing the point of my argument yet again.

Congrats on doing less than the bare minimum of human decency I guess?

were they headed to a riot?
you said very confidently there was no riot in the area and no protestors nearby.
i'm looking for some pre-shove video. have you seen it?
