fighting at pits in Mangham and Coushatta

When were they doing this near Coushatta? I have a hard time believing I never heard this before.

Personally, I find this one hard to believe

It's all over Google. I think they used it on horses as well. It was used to increase aggression

And I posted an academic paper on the subject that was very kind to the trailer park practitioners and said that those who were using the drugs were most likely those related to organized crime, illegal aliens, types

Some people are so sensitive

I guess they didn't pay off law enforcement this year. Law enforcement has known about this since at least the 1980s.

It’s too bad they can’t be hog tied and let the roosters have at them. Same with dog fighters. Except the gator pit.

It’s weird that cockfighting is still a thing.

If only some were illegals is it white trash or black trash in Alabama who are more likely to make up most of the citizens arrested with this?

I don't care what people do with their cocks but that crowd could have benefitted from having a TV turned on in the last 6 months at some point. Damn, how stupid have you got to be to go on and have the cockfight with ICE running around the country looking for folks to deport??? And it ain't no small time operation - bleachers, overhead lights, proper pit....this ain't the first time they had done this....it is a pretty solid bet, given the amount of effort it took to build out that arena, that they had done it before with some payment to local LEO back when ICE and deportation wasn't the story of the day....they had a false sense of security and it has cost them dearly....

These rural raids are orchestrated in such a way that State Police, HSI, US Customs & Border Patrol w/ICE agents completely bypass local law enforcement and only give them a heads up when they are basically already on site and the raid is underway. At least that's how the Lake Charles, LA Horse track raid operated yesterday.

Federal authorities know very well that city/county/parish law enforcement are all on the take, so they take out cut them out of the raid.

Thoroughbreds are already prone to bleeding. So are game cocks that have been cut . Why give them something that makes them more prone to bleeding?

I found this on google. It was also common to give it to racehorses back in the day. Saw one account where a dude shot himself up with it in 1904 to win a marathon.

quote:

Strychnine is used in cockfighting to stimulate the fighting cocks and make them more aggressive. Cockfighters believe it makes the birds "stimulated and ready to fight".
How it works:
Strychnine is a powerful stimulant of motor neurons, the nerve cells that control muscle contractions.
In cockfighting, it's typically administered just before the fight, sometimes with increasing doses leading up to it.
Effects on the birds:
Increased aggression and willingness to fight.
Can lead to muscle contractions and convulsions, which can be fatal in higher doses.
Makes the birds harder to kill during the fight.

Well in addition to the aggressiveness that it causes the more blood probably makes the fight more thrilling to the sick fricks that participate and enjoy animal abuse

Anyone who enjoys seeing an animal abused for their pleasure is psychologically damaged

Sounds counterintuitive. I've heard of guys giving their birds a lot of things, but never strychnine.
I personally wouldn't do it
