Wish I lived in BR and knew what business this was -- I'd support it. I hope things work out for you all.

The idea that government should stay out of our lives can be traced back as far as the Declaration of Independence. There, Jefferson argues that the only reason to have a government is to protect our inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We form governments to protect those rights, not to have the government interfere with other aspects of our lives.

That was then, this is now. We have an entire portion of this country that giggles with glee when they can get government to step on the neck of someone who is doing something they don't like, even if it has zero impact on them.

Thanks! I'm about an hour and half south of BR or I'd give you the OT TD discount

Plot twist: this is all JBE’s doing so that the businesses hire his lawyer buddies and he gets kickbacks.

Id like to see the list. I did hear that the golden nugget was cited for being over capacity at the pool and for some parties being too large.

This is all about keeping people restricted to force mail in voting for the presidential election
If people are allowed to return to normal then voting at polling places should be normal as well

It's the 1940s in Germany in Louisiana. WTF is going on here?

This man needs to take some of the blame too. He is the one leading the charge for JBEs barking orders
ETA: State fire marshall Butch Browning

What gets me is the state voted this bastard into office not once but twice.

restaurants need to be taking precautions, like masks and cleaning thoroughly.
the distance and capacity rules are what i think is dumb. i had brunch at restaurant sunday. we had masks on when we entered, then walked 4 feet from the door sat down and took the masks off. so what's the point of the distancing?
it seems that its more on the individual restaurant to keep all surfaces and shared items clean

Two terrible opposition candidates twice in a row is what you have to thank for that. No one would have likely beaten Edwards anyway. Very tough to unseat an incumbent governor in this state.

Maybe so but the idea of the government mandating this is where I have an issue.
Also, the government can mandate business to comply with the law but blindly stand by while thousands get together and protest or go to a casino.
The hypocrisy drives me nuts!

In Memphis customers can call 311 Covid hotline on other customers and the business can be fined for not being the mask police. All anonymously of course.

If a mandate, ordinance, or law is reliant upon citizens for enforcement, it is a bad mandate, ordinance, or law. It puts business owners and employees in direct conflict with potentially unruly and/or dangerous citizens who are defiant of these orders. It is quite literally not their jobs to enforce this shite.
The fact that the majority of these new regulations can only be enforced by business owners or busy-body Karens says all you need to know about the legitimacy of these "laws".
Litigation from all of this bullshite will stretch for years. Couple that with lawsuits related to the protests....I mean....riots and we're going to need more judges.

Oh and if the masks work, how the F are people still getting this?????
1) many people aren't wearing the masks as evidenced by OP
2) many people wear masks incorrectly
3) cloth masks only reduce transmission. they don't stop it. so when you have #1 & 2 going on, #3 is futile.
