I’m 43 and couldn’t do the hang or farmers walk. Could do the pull-ups, pushups, and squat.

Dead hang and farmers walk are more difficult than the rest by a wide margin

Could do all but #4 . 1 mile in just over 8 on Saturday

Do 50 unbroken pushups every morning

2 minute dead hang. Just tried it and lasted just over 2 minutes. It's harder than you might think

Have not tried the squat test in a while. But about 2 years ago I was able to clear 300 and I was weighing 220 lbs

Still do 20 burpees a day 10 in the morning . 10 around 6 pm. That keeps you in pretty good shape by itself. Couple that with 2 miles every other day and the push-ups every morning.

I hate the running part but I force myself to do it. But I've always sucked at pull ups and I'm in my late 50s. For me, I found that decent nutrition along with an exercise regime gives you a fighting chance. I rarely eat fried foods, barely drink anymore. Red meat 1 day a week....and knowing when you are truly tired and sleeping properly.A lot of people have sleep issues, not just apnea

If most Americans walked 30 miles or more a week and did 3 30 min sessions of light weight lifting their health would be perfectly fine.

If they did this they could pretty easily complete all of these with exception of the farmers carry

Light weight lifting. As in like 25 pound dumbells and pull ups.

BS on pretty easily completing those. That test would eliminate 99% of the world, not just American men. There's very very few guys that I know that could complete all those, because like I said its not how they train.

Guys that could do those are guys that do things like cross fit, rock climbing, etc.

Ditto. I do farmers walks twice a week myself. Usually do my cardio stuff in the evenings when I don’t train BJJ. My farmers circuit is walk a minute with 100’s in each hand and rest for 30 seconds 20 times. I have a path at my gym I walk and it is exactly a minute to finish at a normal pace. People who know me see me grab them 100’s and just know to get out of my way lol. It fricking sucks. I weigh 200 pounds so guess I could try to do an extra minute. Feel like this is pretty doable. Dead hangs I do those already. Same thing, usually do a minute and release. I think I could do 2 minutes. It would be tough but doable. Grip strength is so important in jits so I have been doing that stuff for years.

<—- 40 years old

I can do all but the FC and dead hang are by far the most difficult.

I just do both at least 3-4x a week. Both are a staple in my workouts.

Of 40 year olds? Absolutely. Hell 99% of the world never does squats or pull ups for that matter.

Guys that mostly just run or ride a bike later in life generally have very weak arm and shoulder strength. None of the guys I know that mostly run but are in good enough shape, could do any of the carries or hangs.

Dude it’s 5 pull-ups and body weight squat. If you do any weight training at all you should be able to do those. They’re not hard…. At all

I like to alternate pull ups with heavy farmer carries. I weigh 180ish and typically do the 77 pound kettlebells but have gone up to like 93s I think. You have to train very intentionally to even come close to holding on for 2 minutes. I would think less than 1% of people could actually do that. Excellent workout though, hits every muscle and very functional.

As you get older, you have to eat right as well. I have a good friend who is a French doctor and he convinced me about 16 years ago to change the way I eat and when and how much. He said if Americans would eat their large meals in the middle of the day for starters, we'd probably reduce our heart disease rate by about 20 - 25%. Also we have way too much sugar in our diet.....and we are not even aware of it.

99% of the world doesn't have access to a gym, so per usual you are simply ignorant.

I never said they were that hard, I said that most in the world don't do any sort of training to complete those.

A huge percentage of people could complete them with 2-3 months of training max.

ETA: There's almost 0% chance that your avg chinese man, indian man, or middle eastern man could get close to these

How much do you weigh?

The average weight of a 65 year old is 200lbs.

I'm 38 and don't like carrying 80+lb dumbbells unless it's just to bench. I can't image being 64 and carrying 100lb dumbbells for two minutes.

The farmers carry is much harder than people on here think unless you only weight like 140lbs.
