A fast-growing, Arkansas-based drive-through coffee chain has purchased property across the street from Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center for what could be the first of up to 40 locations across south Louisiana.

HSC 7Brew Baton Rouge LLC paid nearly $1.2 million for the site at 5131 Essen Lane in a deal that was filed Tuesday with the East Baton Rouge Clerk of Court’s Office. The seller was 5131 Essen Lane LLC, managed by Milton Lavigne III of Baton Rouge

The line moves much, much faster than starbucks. Coffee is fine. Doesn't have the over roasted taste that starbucks hangs their hat on.

The actual storefront is a small box that fits on a semi trailer.

You pull up and a real person takes your order before you get to the actual drive through. Its all done on ipads. The drive through reminds me of Chik Fil A. Its efficient with normal looking kids running it. Only negative is they're usually blaring shitty country music the whole time. The employees seem to enjoy their job.

they’ll be stuck in traffic on Essen so long they will pass away before ever finding a location for a second store

Probably to help them attract a certain audience while discouraging others.

This is the thread where all the baws tell us they are happy with their Folgers that their granny drank and they don't need no hippy coffee shops.

Essen really isn't that bad anymore usually since they widened it. Bluebonnet is worse now.

Good idea for a business there, not the location I would suggest.

It is on the wrong side of Essen to really take advantage of OLOL business and I’m not sure there is enough east access to and from Summa to get business from the General.

Have you driven there during rush hour or shift change? It is still godawful.

Used to be one downstairs in the Union after renovations ~10 years ago. Ate it pretty often for lunch since you could use a meal transfer there.

Yeah my office is right off Essen although I don't go more than a day or two per week now.

Dutch bros lacking traditional coffee and having only these “drinks” kids are drinking nowadays turned me off to them. I don’t need 85 grams of sugar at 7 am unless I’m having a beignet on vacay.

I asked for a coffee at one in bend and the best they could do is an americano (espresso with damn milk).

Hopefully this place serves actual coffee at least.

LOL that might be true in Arkansas but they have a little different make up of people. You know who will be working there. You're gonna get the same... 'What you want???!?' attitude you get everywhere.
