My group of buddies came up with some stupid shite as kids back in the day. But we could usually explain the source of it.

And it was fun because it was spread by word of mouth. Repeating internet memes and TikTok nonsense is just dumb.

My three teens explained it to me. Some famous YouTuber started the whole thing. After that, monkey see, monkey do.

On the periodic table, 67 is Holmium. Abbreviated Ho.

Yes, the YouTuber sampled the Skrilla song

quote:

The phrase was popularized on social media, especially TikTok, when creators started using the song's audio in highlight videos of NBA player LaMelo Ball, who is 6 feet, 7 inches tall. This connection helped the number gain traction.

I saw a linguist on YouTube explain it. He translated the Ebonics and came to the conclusion it’s a police call from whatever city the rapper is from. 10-67 is something like shots fired

Not when their parents start randomly using it. It is gloriously fun and powerful as a dad.........No Cap.

The rapper is Skrilla from Philly, don't bother listening to his music, you'll turn it off immediately. 10-67 is Philly police code for the investigating the reporting of a death.

My kids and their friends use it nonstop and it drives my wife nuts since she doesn’t understand. So I will quietly encourage it. Have to make sure to point out the pants size when getting them dressed since 1 of them currently wears a size 6/7

It really doesn’t mean anything. It’s evolved away from whatever the original meaning was to a code word for that age group. My son & I now use 67 as a code word for retarded.
