interesting enough, "meeting in a bar" is the only other way to have increased over the last decade

Well, she worked at the restaurant that was attached to the bar and I worked with the DJ at the bar, so there was a friend minimally involved.

How do you meet on the internet? I assume that would mean forums? Sounds weird

There have been some couples back in the day that met on the OT and did start dating IRL. But the LLooOT are now basically all gone.

I was married prior to apps thankfully. I think it would be odd to date on them in the sense that when do you delete the apps? Is that a conversation a couple has today?

That really shocks me that less than 5% met through college. I would think that was at least 15%.

I mean, what does through college really mean that wouldn't be superseded by the other categories?

I would imagine "meeting through friends" and "meeting at a bar" encompasses a lot of the "met through college" couples

we'll consider probably barely over 50% of Americans go to college right out of high school. Maybe half of them have a high school sweetheart or just go to the local city college. Folks take off in the military and find them an azn to drop a baby in.

If it wasn’t for the internet, the only women i would see as far as dating possibilities would be at work which would be a nightmare, coed sports leagues which you are not exactly talking to the other teams women, and a waitress when i go out to eat.

I have no idea where i would actually meet someone and have a broad enough area to look in

It was always said that 10% of the guys got 90% of the girls worth having (not fat, hideous, etc). I bet that number is further exasperated now. They see the tall, attractive men and won’t give the time of day to anyone else.

Additionally a lot of women may occasionally get that Top 10% of men for just a quick one and done frick, and think that they’re worth more than they actually are. These are the same women who say there are no good men around, when quite frankly they’re not giving the good men that are actually in their league a chance and think they deserve someone who looks like Chris Hemsworth or Ryan Gosling.

So it is damaging both sexes, even if I personally met my wife online (Hinge).

Imagine having to have a conversation about your relationship with your partner? Absolutely baffling.

Geez. Some of you boomers make shite so complicated. How difficult is it to look at someone and say "Hey, we've been dating for a bit. I'd like for us to be exclusive. You be my gf and I'll be your bf. We get rid of these apps and hopefully never have to get back on them again! What do you think?"

Did you not have a conversation with your wife on the stages of your relationship?

Its not that difficult.

Feel sorry for you baws on the dating sites. Those women have been on there for years and have been dicked down by a staggering amount of men. Keep that in mind when you marry someone from a dating app.

I believe it. Singles bars are pretty much dead. At least not like they were back in the 80’s

The two reasons divorce rates have dropped from the 80s is that more people are just co-habitating now and not getting married. I realize that having fewer marriages doesn't change the divorce rate statistically, but the people who normally would get divorced, are just living together and not bothering to marry so the people who are committed for life are the ones marrying (and marrying later when they are more stable and mature).

Also, fewer people are getting married a second or third time. The divorce rates for 2nd and 3rd marriages are historically WAY higher than first marriages. I hardly know anyone under 40 who has been married multiple times anymore. I realize they are out there, I just personally have encountered fewer than in the 60+ demographic.

The guy that constantly claims to have slept with hundreds of women talking shite about theoretical women that have slept with "a staggering amount of men." Ironic.

Interesting concept: experienced vs whore

I think it's more a function of mentality and expectations rather than strict body count.

PS: As this is the OT, it's requisite for me to now allude to your Mom's tawdry profile several online dating sites.
