That’s equal to two pieces of Mama’s friend chicken.

Were you abused as a child? This behavior is honestly fascinating to me.
So I’m a binge eater. Technically bulimia since I “purge” with excess exercise and fasting after a large binge. I’m 165 pounds, but I’ve struggled my whole life with eating exorbitant amounts of food in secret, very quickly, and feeling extremely guilty about it. I’m talking 3000 calories in the span of minutes. Might be hard to believe, but not everyone who binge eats is really fat.
I didn’t have any abuse in my childhood, but there were some emotional neglect issues. I think my binge eating stems from boredom and a lack of fulfillment throughout the day. But then again, I’ll find myself binge eating any time no matter my mood or what’s happened to me that day.
There’s a book called Brain Over Binge that is helping me get through it. While I’m sure a therapist could pinpoint the reasons why people binge eat, the reality is that the only issue that causes binge eating is the inability to cope with the urge to binge. Once you figure out how to work through the urges, it gets a lot easier over time. Ultimately, it’s just breaking a bad habit, which is much more difficult when you literally have to participate in that habit to survive.
Sorry if this comment bounces around a lot. I’d like to write a lot more for the OP, but really, he needs to buy the book by Kathryn Hansen and start working towards resisting the choice to binge eat.

I went into a Popeye's by myself and ordered a 24 pc box of spicy for a tailgate party. The bitch behind the counter asked me if I wanted that to go.

couldn't eat that much food in one sitting. When I was 16 maybe
I had a friend that ate 3 foot longs from Subway. We were about 18 years old at that time. Same guy are a ridiculous amount of bean burritos from Taco Bell but I can’t remember exactly how many. Maybe 10?

Damn, I haven't eaten like that since I was in college, and my parents were still buying. You know back when I had a 28 inch waist and weighed 155 pounds.
Who am I kidding? The most I ever ate when they were paying was a double Whopper, a single Whopper, Large fries, and a large Coke.
Would also eat my whole roast beef poboy, fries and an extra gravy, and half of my mom's, at Ray's Pe Ge in Monroe.
Doubt I could eat six tenders at Popeyes now, and I'm 240.

At least your arteries will be battle tested for when you’re older

quote:The last time I ate Popeyes was March 21st. I got three spicy tenders, red beans and rice and tea. That cost me $11.81. The reason I know that. I took a pic of the receipt and texted it to my brother because it seems like it was under $8.00 last year.
What’s the difference in pricing from January 2021 to now for that chicken?

When I was in high school I would get a big mac VM super sized, a 6 pc nugget and an apple pie and wouldn't gain a pound. Now some days I only eat one meal. Usually Pita Pit, Roly Poly, or Salad Station for lunch and that's it. Can't lose a pound for the life of me.

They need to go on ahead and drop the "big." I don't know who they think they're fooling. Finished that thing in about 3 bites.
That just shows you how unhealthy we’ve become as a society. 20 years ago that was a huge burger by fast food standards. A large soda was 20 oz, now it’s 44

Before that I ate a Big Mac Meal from Mcdlds.
You are going to conduct a science project in your commode later.

That would be called age and metabolism, sir.

6 pieces of Popeyes chicken is the equivalent of about 2 actual pieces of chicken

Would a therapist not help you cope with the urge in a more tailored way?

It used to be considered big. Just like the medium size is what supersize used to be. You can’t even order a small. America is disgusting
