In that particular instance, yes.

What building you in baw?
Would rather not say.
Why not? What does it matter if people know where you work?
Are you afraid that someone may hunt you down and kidnap you?

Beats the hell out of Pecos or Big Lake but your still stuck in West Texas which is a long arse ways from everywhere.

I think that's their game plan... they mentioned Pennsylvania too.
Yeah we opened up a shop just south of pittsburg last year. Doing well and a lot of our other sister companies are doing it now.

It’s not like the NOLA area’s offshore business is any better
They need more space, and trying to attract more vendors they say. Hint, Lafayette isn't as entertaining as NOLA, the Cajundome/convention center likely overcharges. I'm surprised because this thing was founded and has always been in Lafayette. I am not surprised because of the local economy, the lack of o&g recovery in the area, and NOLA vs Lafayette for a convention of this magnitude is really a no brainer. I just feel back for the locals who are going to lose the momentary loss of money because of it.

Lean over the side, and tell them baws on the supply boat to bring you some better food next time

Sound like you don’t understand how profit margins work. Land oil cost a third of what deep water oil cost to produce.
Where did I say differently?
So why arent shallow water rigs working ?
Land has ALWAYS been a cheaper COGS.

Probably some stone baws? Not even sure what other companies would have 2 geos, a PETE and 3 drilling superintendents in Lafayette in this day and age
It must suck to get laid off when the industry is on the clear rebound

Offshore work is not. At. All
As I sit offshore about 100 miles south of Mobile Bay, I can tell you that you're wrong.
Just finished tying back 2 new wells, drillship heading back out next month, and 3 life extension projects going on simultaneously on deck right now.

True or False?
I wouldn't move there, but it's not really that bad. There is money to be made there, and it's crazy busy there. For someone with no kids or family, it would be foolish to not consider it. Up north too. I went to Midland 3 times a couple years ago, and while it wasn't some metropolitan utopia, it wasn't south central LA either.

freeport Mcmoran
Shoreline
Badger
Marlin
All companies that could fit the mold. Freeport is in the same building that I mentioned earlier.
Probably some Ocean Energy baws, who stayed back when they merged with Devon. I would have a hard time with the uncertainty of the O & G biz.

Press release on the radio just said they need more square footage to accommodate more vendors in order to grow the event. Essentially saying they've outgrown the Cajundome and it's parking lots.
Well that's a crock of shite. The last show Baker/Hughes didn't attend. Can't remember if Cameron was there. There was PLENTY of room in the parking lot.
Turn out the lights, the party is ovah..
