It’s because time and again, it’s been proven that we are nowhere neare “out of oil” yet for several very long years, we were gouged like a porn queen in a 4 on 1 session in an area where most of us have long commutes to work and burn a lot of gas. Meanwhile, a small handful of corporations were making record profits and baws who couldn’t otherwise run a snowball stand were living lifestyles fit for someone that can bank on making $300 k a year. For that timeframe, that was some hefty monthly welfare/indirect tax payments.

Btw, you’re welcome for our contributions to the state and federal tax system. There is nothing in the constitution requiring we pay 1/3 of our income to the government.

Not quite bud, but I can take about 20 pics for you on my way to work tomorrow of homesteads that are 20% of the value of the vehicles and recreational toys in the yard.
And I can tell you this with strong, close experience.

That is just poor trashy folks in general.
White trash parks 60 grand trucks in front of their 5 grand trailer and Black trash parks caddy's in front of chicken coops, nothing new or oilfield related there and has been the norm for as long as I can remember.
The real question is why do you GAF what other people spend their money on?
